Hey I noticed that some members need videos made for Youtube posting ECT. I’ve been doing video/graphic/audio/webpage editing on the side for over a decade now. If anyone needs help feel free to let me know. I can do just about any kind (except HD for now) format you may need. I'm proficient with Gif, Avi, Mpeg, WMV, DVD, Slideshows, Graphics, Enhanced Text, any Audio format, ECT. Image and Audio restorations. Web graphics and Banners. Business cards and Letterheads. BMP's to Professional PDF’s. The only thing I'm still working on getting better is Flash, and Shockwave files. I use all the top pro tools to produce a high quality product.

The price is $5 an hour. I'm out of work so I have the time and can use the $$ to help with my laser projects. Will also trade. Send me a PM if interested. If it's somehing easy I'll try to help for free. Thanks

PM me for Web templates.

Not bad, not bad at all mate.

Do you have a DeviantART profile? It would be great to compare our work. I am a Graphic Design student at college and have learnt quite a lot as well as my previous knowledge of graphics that I learnt before I started the course.

Im mainly learning graphic based programs like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign which I can honestly say I know Illustrator and Photoshop inside out now.

Add me if you have a dA account ( http://www.iansalter91.deviantart.com/ ), I found that if you use the forums on there you can earn yourself a little money doing freelance jobs.

My stuff is in no way high-end yet. I know more than most though and am self taught, I lack the education right now to bring it to a commercial level. If it was I'd be charging more than $5 an hour lol. I want to go back to school but when I became disabled my old student loan went default. And being on a fixed income takes any chance of paying for a class impossible. My main talent is pen and ink. The graphics is secondary but I do enjoy doing them.

Thanks for the link, I will check it out.

Just a quick test that catches most people out who claim they are professional designers (not saying you said that, you already said your not). You have 3 programs on your computer from the same suit, which ones would you use for what? The 3 programs are Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.

Sorry to hear that mate, theres still a lot around as well as some other graphics courses online that are just as good :) I learnt most of my skills myself the same way you did, only downside to that is when I started the course they started teaching the basics of the programs which I already knew.

Take a look on my dA profile, I have a few tutorials that might be of interest.

Cool I will.

I know most people online talk crap. I'm an honest person online and off. If I don't know something I'll say I don't know, unlike most people. You don't see me giving to much laser advice do you LOL?

The painted photo, and the retouched one just shows my attention to detail. Both took me about 10 hours a piece, but most people who don't know the time it takes wouldn't get it. I do a lot of work for 3 non-profit organizations so it keeps me busy.

Same here, I actually do graphics for the company I work at although my job roll isnt specifically graphics I seam to be doing most of the graphics for them as its cheaper to go through me than hire an external designer.

The longest time I have been working on one project is for an animated advert banner I made a while back that took almost 5 hours to complete, but then an hour of that was due to the client changing his mind on certain parts when I handed the finished work over.

The latest "In Its Wake" work on my profile only took me about 45 mins to 1 hour to make, its simply a stock image that was sent to me, the edges faded using a mask, a green to black gradient and dark green texture over the top with a few grunge brushes. The font was just kept simple and downloaded online with no changes to it (although the way fonts are licensed it is legal to take Arial for example, change one letter and rename the whole font and call it yours) and set two layers of it to overlay and gave one a drop shaddow.

I might write up a tutorial on how I made that one later tonight, its actually really simple to do.

There is one thing I really want to do and strugle despite knowing the program. I want to be able to make my own space scenes entiraly from scratch... I got 2 hours into one before and had the stars and half a planet and decided it looked hideous.

Sorry for long post haha :p

Thats funny, I just finished one..

I used star brushes LOL. Hey its kind of cheating but they work. Post away LOL

It only took me so long because I was still learning and those were family photos so I wanted to do my best. That was my mom in the painted one.

Nice.

Im thinking more along the lines of a total space scene like a nebula, a few planets, an asteroid going past etc.

Haha, I will tell you what I tell everyone.

Photoshop = Image manipulation
Illustrator = vector based graphics like logos, signs etc.

I also happen to be a big fan of PhotoShop, use it all the time. For doing things like making photos look better, I tend to use the Fake HDR in Mediachance's PHOTO HDR. Works well for me. I cant say I completely understand photoshop, but I know how to use all the main tools, and have a fairly good grasp of it.
