SOLD

As im slowly getting away from the made in China hosts, here is my first
scratch built host with some new features.

This is a 3 mode 1.3W 445 with LED indicator, key switch and accidental
startup protection..

Should the operator forget to power down the laser and leave the clicky
in the 'on' position, shutting it off by the key only, when the key is turned to
'on' the laser will emit a brief flash but not fully power up. I am uploading
a video which will illustrate this property further..

The LD is mounted in a custom 2 piece copper mount. The focus assembly
also acts as an additional heatsink with deep fins.

Driver is a 3 mode featuring low, strobe and high.. There is no memory with this
and the laser starts in high. A brief interruption of power allows selection to low
power and the other modes by a slight tap on the clicky while in the 'on' position.

Battery used is 1 x 18650 unprotected (not included) though I am including
a new pair of goggles..

All thermal connections are made with plenty of acrtic silver paste and bonded
areas with arctic silver epoxy.

When the focus is set to a parallel beam, the focus ring sits tight against the
copper.. There is nothing lose fitting on this laser..

Asking 399. CDN shipped within North America with tracking. International
buyers are welcome, but will be required to pay for FedEx shipping as there is
no tracking available via Canada Post to overseas locations.

Warranty covers everything included and is good for 2 years from the purchase date..
Here are some pics, and video.

Thanks

Ive been putting many hours in on my new lathe.. Thought it was about
time I start making my own hosts.. So to answer the question re: machining,
yes I machined this myself :D

There are just too many restrictions to what I can fit in China hosts. Making
my own opens doors to what I can now fit inside ;)

Ive been playing with thermal protection shutdown, TEC, and most importantly
multiple LD arrays :eg:

This is the prototype for single LD lasers I will be selling.. I was also going to
anodize this one, but was too anxious to get it assembled and fire it up

Wanna that's an awesome job!!

Your Lasers are always very clean and slick, and the safety features You are now adding really push the envelope for a Hobbyist build.

I'm not even sure You qualify as a Hobbyist anymore with the kinds of Lasers You're putting out. You might have to be reclassified as a professional now.

Thanks

Like anything else we all get better over time.. Not to mention, id be nothing
without my tools :undecided:

Safety features are a definite plus.. The more I can fit in, the better..

I have some other lasers that I will be posting soon, they dont
have the safety features and the hosts were purchased before
I made the decision to add keys to all future builds..

After the next 'run' the only lasers that will not have a key will be
the micro builds, that is unless I can find micro keys

Absolutely fantastic! You should have no problem getting what you are asking. I wish I had a bigger budget, you would be boxing her up right now!
Great job!

Best >1 watt 445nm laser I have seen to date. Truly a work of art. Nicely done. If it werent for the car I just bough i would buy this in a heart beat.

I really like this host. Would you happen to have any similar ones maybe lacking the safety features and indicator led, but in all aluminum? If so, what kind of pricing would you want, if not then what kind of pricing on making me something like that? I am only looking for the host (and maybe the lenses/focus assembly).

Hey Wannaburn....
Freakin' Sexy clean lines on that host...
The copper finned front end really sets it off as pure eye candy...

And it has safety features to be more in line with the way hosts
should be built...
Well.... you've impressed me.....:gj:

Is that a product of your new lathe....

Wow!

If that's a prototype, sign me up for the production model.

One question though... why unprotected batteries?
