Re: FS: Kenometer LPM and a brand new 12X Pioneer blu-ray writer

Which Kenometer is it?
Up to how many mW it is possible to do exact measurements?

That's the original kenometer, the head inside is rated for 10W, but inside the meter itself it's good for 2W due to heat. I'd refer to Kenom for better information.

I paid $300 for one of those Kenometers, and that was a steal. It is simple to use, accurate to 1mW, and has a zeroing input. I have it sitting right next to me.

Yes, it's very easy to use and has a zeroing input.

The little white knob there is the zeroing input.

Here's a picture of it in action checking the output on a 700mW blu-ray pointer.

Besides the kenometer is anyone interested in the 12X writer? I can extract the diode from it but I figure the buyer would want the entire unit.

Re: FS: Kenometer LPM and a brand new 12X Pioneer blu-ray writer

I don't see too much interest. I based the price on what the kenometer LPM was selling for in other threads. Bumping the price down to $225 for the kenometer.

I think I'm just going to ebay the 12X blu-ray writer

A few light blemishes, but it works perfectly. I did not use the LPM very much at all. In fact. I'm going to post a video in a moment to show that. As I've had been questioned about this in a previous PM.

Hello, I wrote you a p.m. about the writer. Did you not get it?

-Scott

Yes, I got your PM scott and have replied.

The videos are good, but you've got those lasers too far away to get an accurate reading. As the laser passes through air, it loses power. I always measure the laser at about 3"-6" away from the meter.

Also, does it matter if the laser hits the center, or should you defocus to cover the entire sensor?

@laser83 , i havent forgot about your offer, and i'm waiting for my freind to get back to me, its for him but he's moaning at th price.

Re: FS: Kenometer LPM

I've found that the Coherent.. Ophir and even the LaserBee heads
can pick up radiated body heat or even the radiated heat from a
Laser Diode if you are too close to the Active Sensor area.. which
adds to the Laser's actual beam reading.

Unless the air is really full of particulate... and as long as you have
the total beam on the Sensor... the amount of Power loss over a foot
or two is quite small and negligible... IMO
Although 6 feet is quite far for testing....

The reason I filmed from roughly six feet away is because the 12X blu-ray 650mW blu-ray pointer I have burns quite fast. I wanted make a quick film and the laser needs be on a stable and level surface with the LPM to get an accurate reading.
