Hey guys. Havnt been here in a while, had to make a whole new account!

Anyways i'd like to go ahead and sell my first gen kryton barrel. It's unpolished, unanodized aluminum. Has barely seen any use since i got it, mostly sitting around.

It's built with a PHR diode (yeah, you remember those???) so i would guess that it's outputting about 100mw of 405nm light. The driver is covered in shrink-wrap so I can't actually see which SMD resistors are on it. I would prefer to not remove the shrink wrapping either, unless a buyer absolutely insists. I remember being slightly conservative with the amount of resistance though to ensure long diode life.

I have some spare parts i'd be happy to throw in for the buyer. A couple of lenses with metal adjustment knobs (one is labeled as being acrylic, other unknown), some uranium marbles, extra brand name CR123's, maybe some aixiz hosts and spare components Maybe even a driver or two if i can dig e'm up. Nothing of any great value on it's own but stuff any laser hobbyist would put to use.

Go ahead and make offers below, really not sure what this is worth.

I would prefer to ship it to a reliable member first with DCN and then receive payment, but would use middle-man for anybody without reputation.

USA only

Nowadays you'll need to post a photo of the item you're selling that includes a paper stating the date and your LPF username to sell on the forum.

Picture of your items, especially the working laser, along with your LPF name and today's date please.

I might be interested... I like krytons a lot, but definitely need to see pictures.

Re: FS: First gen kryton barrel - PHR/Rckstr micro build

Hopefully the pic will be attached.

The round bit of protoboard fits in the back end of the barrel (infront of the batteries) and the solder acts as a terminal for the battery. A wire goes from that to driver. The driver is soldered directly to the diode (very firm connection), and the diode is grounded through the host.

No pics of it running now. Unfortunately i snapped the wire that attached the protoboard to the driver while disassembling it, it had just been wiggled back and forth one too many times. Will have it fixed within a day or two and will upload some nice lasing pics for you to enjoy. Can get it to lase now if i hold bits of it together, but that's no fun.

Re: FS: First gen kryton barrel - PHR/Rckstr micro build

Here is a pic of the spare parts lot.

There are 3 drivers you see. One is just a circuit i was playing with and will be useful for the components (lm317, capacitor, pot, diode, resistor). The other is a functioning LM317 based circuit. Another is a professionally produced circuit that I received from Senkat years ago. I am sure you can tell which is which :D

Then there are 2 cracked uranium marbles.
two aixiz housings (1 has a 16x burner diode in it)
two momentary switches
Acrylic lense with focus knob
Then there is a bolt-on LM317 heatsink.

Then there are a good half dozen or more Energizer Lithium Photo (fanciest name i could find) CR123 batteries. There is also a battery bank that holds 4x AA's.

So yeah, there is some value to the additional items you guys get here. And could you imagine the performance you'd get with a heatsinked LM317? Everyone should want a LM317 heatsink! It's the hottest gift this season, trust me. Just don't forget the thermal compound or you won't get peak perfmance.

Anyway, all these items are included in the sale as a little incentive/bonus

Re: FS: First gen kryton barrel - PHR/Rckstr micro build

Alright. I soldered the one connection i mentioned before and now have it working perfectly. See the attached picture, I used the same name/date card as the other day.

So now we have a perfectly functioning laser for sale. Click on, click off.

I apologize for the issues, but everything is fixed now.

I'll let offers float in for a while and end the sale when i see fit.

Thanks guys
