sold

i've decided to sell one of my firedragons. i was lucky and received 2 good ones in this group buy from laserman we did in the fall.
i did reposition the expanding lens on this unit to correct the laserman error.
the host has no blemishes and the laser has been used for lpm purposes primarily. maybe 30 minutes runtime total.
at night the brightness and visibility of the beam is astounding! this thing is truly a light saber. indoors in a lit room the beam can be distinctly seen.
it even lights matches ;-)
price is $200 + $10 shipped in conus
includes charger and battery sent by laserman

Was this one of the 500mW models?

What kind of battery was used in testing?

What lens correction error from laserman did you fix? Can you take a picture of this?

Lastly how stable is the laser on the LPM? I don't think version of the laserbee has logging, but can you post a two minute lpm video?

Re: FS: FireDragon III 500mW

the expanding lens mounting ring was glued off center. i reglued it to center the beam coming from the module to the collimation lens. in the picture i aligned this ring that holds the expanding lens.
this is one of the 500mW models i received. cost me $341
supplied battery was used in the lpm, i think - cheapie
the lpm "trace" peaks, then peaks again, when the x-tals warm i guess.

Re: FS: FireDragon III 500mW

no, no superglue this time. you jogged my mem to the time i did that with a pen. i used one of the lens you pointed me to with my other fd.
i haven't run this laser longer than a minute/45 seconds to get lpm results, once it reached over 500 i shut the laser off. i could make a vid showing the power ramp-up.

one thing to be careful of with this laser is the sensitive on switch. very gentle pressure will turn it on. and this power (side) switch will remain "on" when the key is turned off. it's a good idea always to turn the laser off with the key after turning it off with the side switch. it also has a safety shutter on the aperture.

Heh, well, I think using superglue is kind of like a right of passage for LPF... I did it too before I learned.

Actually the one time I did, it worked out just fine, but still a bad idea.

The switch is the same and VERY sensitive on all of them. Without a key this laser would be very dangerous to transport with a battery in it.

I used superglue once and it baked some white stuff on the lens... Is this why it's a bad idea?

The fumes from super glue frost glass and etch plastic
lenses. Been there myself. I now use UV cure glue.
