Up for sale is a Monster Edition Ace of Steel build @ 2500mW+

P1020756.jpg

Description: Equipped with an ultra-rare, ultra-efficient 445nm diode & a high-powered burning lens, the Monster roars at over 2500mW on my LaserBee. It may very well reach into the 2600s as it hits my LPM's max of 2500mW at 22s when usual response time is at 30s-40s. The diode is kept cool by a copper diode housing Arctic Silver'd to a large copper heatsink. It comes with my usual heavily-heatsinked Mohgasm driver running at 1.79A. The most impressive thing about this laser is it's stability: it's rock solid @ over 2.5W and maintains this past 60s.
  • Thick metal construction gives the build a very impressive solid feel
  • The copper alloy used has a thermal conductivity of 355 W/m-k which is over 2.1 times that of aluminum, and will allow longer duty cycles w/o overheating
  • Uses 2x 3.7v 16340 batteries (high-quality AW 16340 batteries ONLY)
Material: Brushed Stainless Steel Body + Large Copper Heatsink

Duty Cycle: 90s on/100s off

3W? How so? It's only running at 1.8A...

Yeah.... you topped out your LaserBee USB at 2500mW.
It will not read higher than that and you may even cause
damage to your sensor's coating... It is Rated at 2500mW
Max.

You are also a bit too close to the Sensor with your Laser.

BTW... Nice powerful output....

Hehe :thanks: guys. I think it will hit 2.6-2.7W. Not sure about 3W lmao

Personally, I would put such a nice diode in a bit beefier host/heatsink
Maglite build with a flexmod and two big ass batteries...

Very nice laser. That diode is very efficient and super powerful. Judging by the curve on that power readout it looks like it may stabilize slightly over 2500mW. I say this because the curve doesn't appear to be too unnatural looking at the point in which the metter tops out. That is still HUGE power. Just throwing my opinion on the subject out there with the others.

I do realize that now, Experience says it all.. I was such a rookie calling it 2.8-3..:shhh:

Re: Selling: 445nm "Ace of Steel MONSTER EDITION" @ 2.5W+

Why not putting a flat lense (IR lense) in front of the laser when shining it onto the LPM? Measure how much of 445nm get blocked by the lense. Do this test with 2-3 other 445nm, and you´re going to have a value. Now do the new LPM test on this built here and add the missing percentage after taking the reading through the lense.

One of my IR lenses f.e. blocks 8% of 445nm. Should give you enough room to take a more precious power!

Seriously, you are insulting that amazing diode you have with that c6 sized host/heat sink

Go big or go home!
