Re: New builds, The Scorcher & The Scorcher Jr. 445nm 3w+ w/strobe

UPDATE: I guess Mrcrouse has just been busy as I just got the heatsinks, thank you !! :thanks:

Greetings,

Just wanted to clarify as the builds I have available now do not assemble as The Scorcher does. While the copper build does have the heatsink screwing into the host, the driver is soldered into the heatsink and the diode is pressed in. The Scorcher Jr. has a pocket in the pill where the driver sits and the diode is a drop in module.
According to Mrcrouse the normal heatsinks I use were ready Saturday. Hopefully I will get them in time to have them ready next week....

cheers,
Moe

Re: For Sale MX900 ( The Scorcher ) 445nm 2.8w+ w/strobe

Very nice i wish there was a way to get stuff like that into Australia
and know your going to get it... any ideas? As I'm very interested cheers

Fully functional lasers over 1mW are prohibited.
A diode in a module tucked into a heat sink and encased in the front portion of a flashlight, is not.

Flashlight battery chambers and tail caps, are not prohibited either.
They also have no connection in any way to a package that might have been delivered the day before.

PM me if you need help with a build.

Btw: Great looking hosts Moe, Mrcrouse.

3 DAY SALE $199, The Scorcher & The Scorcher Jr. 445nm 3w+ w/strobe

Greetings,

I decided to have a 3 day sale with the price for The Scorcher's being $199. I also have a C8 build for $175 and 2 Rick Trent builds for $175. The Scorcher's with the exception of the copper one are all 3w+ builds. The copper build runs at 2.7w-2.8w and the 2 Rick Trent builds were bought as 3.2w-3.5w but run at 2.8w for the C8 and 3w for the MX900. All builds use the G9 lens and have 4 modes, 100%, 50%, 5% and strobe. Uses 2x18650 batteries for the C8 with Mrcrouse heatsink, 2x18650 with included adapters or 2x26650 for The Scorchers and the MX900 Rick Trent build. The smaller C8 uses 2x18340 batteries, and will also work with 2x16340 though a loose fit.
The sale price does not include shipping and paypal fees.
Will also post the LPM readings for each here shortly.

cheers,
Moe

Greetings,
Here's a few pic's of one of The Scorcher's. Please forgive the poor quality of the pic's as my camera sucks. Also the power output shows it bouncing a bit. That's because I was holding it when testing. It is solid at 3w+ peaking at 3181mw, and would suggest a 2 minute or less runtime.
Price will be at $235 but does not include shipping.
Will add pic's for all the others as well as time permits.

cheers,
Moe

Greetings,

Actually, I kinda wish I lived there to. The module does separate and I probably should have also mentioned I had planned on putting the flashlight guts with it. That way you will actually have a working flashlight as well as a laser. Could be shipped as a flashlight with the module carefully packed with it......

UPDATE: Has been SOLD!!

This build, The Scorcher A, uses a custom heatsink made by Mrcrouse in an MX900 host. The diode was pulled from a new unused projector by Rick Trent. It uses the G9 lens that comes with the 9mm diode.
Tests were done at 68 degrees using 2 fully charged MNKE MH46698 26650's.
Asking price is $235. This does not include shipping and paypal fees. The laser comes with 2 adapter sleeves for 18650 batteries.
You will need safety glasses, batteries and charger. I do not include them as a proper pair of safety glasses, high quality batteries and charger are items you need to choose.

This build, The Scorcher B, uses a custom heatsink made by Mrcrouse in a MX900 host. The diode is a 12mm drop in module from DTR. It uses the G9 lens that comes with the 9mm diode.
Tests were done at 75 degrees using 2 fully charged MNKE MH46698 26650's.
Asking price is $200. This does not include shipping and paypal fees. The laser comes with 2 adapter sleeves for 18650 batteries.

This is a build I did about a month ago and was trying a different driver, but it did not provide the expected output. I used my normal constant current 4 mode driver, 100%, 50%, 5% and strobe set at 2.4a. Diode is 445nm 9mm drop in from DTR, the lens is an extracted G9 from the diode. The power source is 2x18350 or 2x16340. Though the fit is just a little loose the 16340's work fine.
This build peaks at 2994mw and runs a solid 2.8w. The duty cycle is 90 seconds, 60 seconds suggested.

Asking price for this build is $175, shipping not included.

More to follow.....

cheers,
Moe
