Ok, this housing is going to be a bigger problem then getting parts!

Maplin are insisting that the boxes you linked me to are the bigest they have, no bigger. Google isn't really much help on this...

Get some 1-3mm aluminium sheet (depending on how rigid you want it to be), and some aluminium 90 deg channel. I'd get a good 10-12mm slab for the base plate, so you can tap threads into it to secure parts at a later date.
Then buy/borrow/steal/craft/conjour a pop rivet gun, drill a few pilot holes, and rivet the thing together.
Then, you can make it any size you need!

Well... that's what I'm going to do :)
I want my scanner housing to look like my Lian-Li PC case, but I couldn't take a knife to that even if you paid me ;D

Dan :)
Examples:
(Obviously you'd need bigger sizes of sheet)

I am hoping I wont have to resort to that... I dont have the time ot equipment tobuild my own housing. Problem is I don't want my scanner to look like a home made one... I know in a dark room full of smoke you dont see the housing, just the lasers, but I still want it to look reasonably good.
