Hey,

Did you get a chance to read my PM from last Sunday?

Just wondering if my host has shipped?

Cheers

Hey guys,

Should we be at all worried that payments were sent in a long time ago, and (I at least) haven't been able to get a response to PMs from Helios in 18 days, and his last post here was 2 weeks ago?

I'm guessing something happened to Brad (hopefully nothing bad) that has him offline & out of touch like this. It is a little unusual to have not heard back from him on this thread or via PM by now, but I am not too concerned just yet.

I don't know him personally but I do know he's a respected member on this forum & I'm confident we'll hear from him soon with an explanation/update, ect. If not, then thanks to WL I understand you have up to 90 days before cancelling a paypal payment. I highly doubt anything will go to this, but if anyone is feeling uncomfortable & doesn't know that - now you do :)

sorry guys im just swamped with everyday life things right now. These hosts require a lot of machining and extra pieces I didnt anticipate to ensure flawless performance and easy straightforward assembly. Ive got 8 kits fully machined but im working on building the ground contact springs for them. I did not think these would be needed but the black finish is non conductive so I found the heatsink was isolated from the grounded switch. I didnt want any of you guys to have to figure out a solution so im doing it on my end. Ive got some time tomorrow to get those finished and work on some more kits.

for the price im not making much but im glad to contribute to the forum and the hobby!
I also want to buy 1x New Inexpensive 18650/cr123a Host Kit - $25 Shipped! Thanks.

If you read above we haven't been able to contact him in almost 3 weeks.

Yes but the last time he was active was on 02-23-2011 12:30 AM So I'm sure there is reason why haven't heard from him and i hope that everything is ok.

I hope so too. Its quite strange that someone can just go missing.

That's a good point -he hasn't replied to my PM from the 8th, or the 18th (I believe it was) - but he was here on the 23rd?

You sure? :D

Does your PayPal transactions give any other contact info? Like a phone number???

Yea im sure. I'll stick to my 22600 compatible hosts. I dont think my paypal transactions give phone numbers. At least Ive never seen other people's phone numbers when doing transactions. Did i do something wrong?

Hey guys,

Would it be inappropriate or unkind to place a paypal refund request at this stage?

I ascribe absolutely no ill-intent to Helios whatsoever. But it has been several weeks since he has replied to me, and it would be nice to have the money I sent him back (or a nod from him as to what's up). I've sent a bunch of PMs, no response, and no indication that waiting any longer will change that.

I'm not the least bit angry or upset. This was after all an amazing deal, so no need for Helios to explain himself if he can't follow through - it was an awesome deal for us.

But he's not replying, so I'd just like the money I sent him back.

Is that bad? Am I jumping the gun? I think I paid him over a month ago? (I was probably one of the first)

Im sorry guys ive just been really swamped and havent been on the forum much. My phone which I use to keep up with the thread on the go also stopped charging for some reason (apparently quite common with blackberry...I will never buy one again) but a new phone is in transit.

I had free time when this started but none now. I assure you guys I am more concerned with providing good hosts at a great price and having a good reputation than anything else. I did not invest well over a thousand of dollars in equipment to take anyones $25 and run. I wasnt going to do a preorder for this exact reason (unexpected delays and other variables) but I wanted to gauge interest before I bought all the hosts. If anyone who has paid wants my full contact information or even a refund just PM me and I will offer there completed kit to the next on the list. Otherwise these kits are just about ready to go and those who have been waiting after payment will get a little bonus for the inconvenience.

I am closing the preorder list as of now to avoid more of the same. Those who are on the list will be offered the kit at this price as it becomes available. If they choose to not take it then it will be offered to the next on the list no harm no fowl. If you are lower on the list and need a host now I would suggest looking elsewhere because I cant guarantee a completion time but staying on the list holds no obligation to purchase once its ready.

Again I sincerely apologize for the delay. The grounding hiccup just required more work time and other life issues have kept me from it. Future builds will not be preorder now that I know the desire is there.

Never mind he beat my to the post.

Id say its not inappropriate. When he comes back you could just resend him the money.

I hope he is okay though. Strange for someone to just disappear in the middle of something like this.
