This may/may not make sense depending on dimensions -

What if you inverted a typical aixiz lens cap (tail clicky rubber) so that the portion you'd normally "push" was plugging into the bottom of that heatsink (I couldn't tell from the photo, but I'm guessing it is hollowed at the bottom). That could provide the insulation, and you could use almost anything for a contact point then.

Its much more than adequate for a high power 445nm. I have one built as 445nm set at 1.3A and it doesnt even get warm after being on for a full minute. I havent tried longer but with the driver heat sinked so well the duty should be almost continuous.

For those waiting on hosts they are still in the works. I decided to make sure and build one into a working unit just to be sure there wouldnt be any unforeseen issues when you guys get your kits. Right now im just trying to figure out the best option for the battery positive terminal. It nees to be mounted on the back of the heatsink but isolated electrically from it. Right now im using the contact on the original LED driver but im open to any suggestions if you guys have any! :yh:

As far as heat sinking goes.. it looks like more than enough for very forgiving duty cycles. It really looks meaty enough to handle most builds at 100% duty cycles. Awesome looking work!!!

For the positive terminal I'm not opposed to your current solution as long as it's sturdy; It doesn't need to be beautiful if it's functional.. it'll be hidden in the host. I doubt that I have a suggestion that's not already obvious to you.

I await your elegant solution, sir! I'm excited to get the final product! BTW I think I'll take two of these instead of one!

Soon. I have a lot on my plate until thursday. :cryyy:

But now that I have one fully built and with all kinks worked out it shouldnt be too hard to finish up the first batch even with all of the require machining.

Very cool -
What was the final verdict on battery combinations? Will it take:

2 x 18500 ?
3 x 16340 ?

Right now it works great on both 1X 18650 and 2X cr123a

For custom battery setups PM me and we can discuss the details.

I would be interested in one of these!

Would you like to be added to the list for one?
