Oh, yeah. That makes a big difference. You had me scratching my head over that one.

Hi Alaskan.
Some times I can give a great price on hosts. It all depends on time and material. Thank you enjoy it that host will handle just about anything you can put in it. The 26650’s take me longer due to the metal I need to remove.

Wow, Rich!! You don’t disappoint!! Something new all the time, I love it. Welp, just got back from Anchorage, AK... couple week lil’ work trip. But, I received the NDG7475/SXD driver assembly. I’ve put it together with your White PC host. But it’s been raining here like crazy so haven’t been able to get good outside beam shots as promised.

Should I post it here or a new thread...? I’m also trying to think of a silly name for it (dork, I know )

Hi LPF,
Would like to share this new build. In it is a 575nm module with a SXD driver set to 2.0A 3X18650's 22Awg silicone wire, Powder coated host. Can be made to focus with the machined adapter to fill in the front of the sink. Driver is heat sinked with a copper plate onto the Aluminum integral heat sink. Enjoy to bad the camera doesn't pick up the true yellow WL I assure you its yellow ..
The total length of this is 14 inches due to the 3/18650's

Rich:)

Hi Lew,
Thanks a lot was wanting to build this for a while had to take care of other jobs first. When I had time I machined a piece so all would be done when the powder arrived.
The beam is true yellow damn camera. Going to try to do a 200mW 532 with this powder should be cool or even a 520nm build.

How did you overcome the problem with the case positive pump diode, Rich? Also, was wondering if this gets hot since it no longer has active cooling and 2 amps is higher than the original current. What is the recommended duty cycle? :thanks:

Hi Paul,
First I isolated the module from the sink with Kepton tape and used a nylon tip set screw to secure it. I had it running for 45 sec and it didn't get the sink warm. between 1.8 and 2A seems good for these modules. Used an SXD heat sinked to the platform in the head with arctic silver, ran out of alumina. Used 3X18650's to achieve 12V seems to be ok the LPM clocks at 18 to 20 mW's. The color is a nice yellow beam to bad the camera won't work with that. The focus adapter is just for looks so I had an empty lens barrel and machined a threaded plate to fit flush in front of the module. Have to love this yellow WL buddy.

Great job, Rich, that host and color are a nice compliment to that yellow beam!

The driver that comes with these units needs +12 volts, but the SXD doesn't. You could easily have gotten by with one battery if you wanted to. The Vf of the pump diode is ~1.7 volts, so as long as you provide ~2.5 volts, you should be fine with that driver. I had mine out today and was trying to see what current with the supplied driver is the maximum I can get away with. I might have changed drivers except that the fan runs off the driver as well.
