take the lens ring off it is chocking the T1 and use the same batteries for all and go back to the first one to show batteries are ok I did my test with no lens ring on all the lens! I think you will see it go up!!

OK I will retest with no lens ring. I will also use the same battery's for all. Anything else you might need to see to justify an accurate test?

20W heatsinked and 5W unsinked. Its and Ophir 20c
I put lens ring on my lens but it did not go down. It would be good to test your with out .and in my test I got them to the same spot size on the wall .It would have to be the new holds I got in can you find out from him if they have change from the day you got yours? and the lens could of had condensation on it from shipping it is very cold out! the 2nd video was done with the same glass I just use the T1 holder so I know it is some thing going on in the holder but these were his new holder he sent me so this is odd.I will let him know.and see what is going on

i am just getting the kids up and ready for the day then im going to retest without the lens holders. for my test i did have the the dot pretty much the exact same size when pointing at the LPM i did have to make a minor adjustment on the T1 as you can see in the video but you can also see the distance from the laser to meter are almost the exact same for all lens tested. this lens holder is definetly different then the others, i will take some pictures to show you. as for condensation there should be any as the package arrived at 4:30 on the dot and sat on my computer desk till i got home at around 10:15.

Re: Rick Trent laser kits

Even if the lens focus ring were to reduce output (very unlikely as the beam is already collimated) it wouldn't reduce it by 500 mW...So I doubt that has any real relevance, restricting the beam before the lens however would be much more of an issue!

@awillis You could mark the position for the metering, just to be a little more accurate with the distance and angle, and try to make sure the dot on the sensor has an identical size with each lens. Also Daguin said, let the laser reach thermal equilibrium before each measurement, but again the run times you had wouldn't necessarily warrant that.

Anyway nice test and thanks for checking the lens for us! +1

Re: Rick Trent laser kits

Yup would say the same thing. Actually the T1 looks a lot like the 9 mm lens, with just a very very slight improvement over the G2...

Re: Rick Trent laser kits

Yup nothing special. But ive never seen an 3.7W 9mm diode before so that is special. Or maybe the calibration is special :p

Greetings,,
