I have parts for 50 more on the way. I've got about 25-30 drivers to ship from that order (because this batch was a disaster so i'm discarding it)

What happened was, I prepped 50 boards with solder paste at work trying to catch up on orders, but got a call for a patient transfer to kansas city (4 hour round trip)
I was about half way through adding the regulators at the time.

I didn't want to leave the boards to sit because if that solder paste dries up, when you go to bake it, it kind of "pops" and will throw the components our of their place.

So I put them in the oven and reflowed them before i left, but since the boards had all been prepped it pretinned the other pads, and apparently this solder reflows at a much higher temperature than it initially flows the first time.

Trying to assemble them after that turned into an all day disaster.
it was like trying to solder without flux, the components just sat on top of the solder. I tried flux, but the flux burned away before the solder melted ect.....just absolutely nightmare last night.
So i've got about 20 good looking drivers, and 30 that look like absolute shit that i'm not going to ship to people.
the profit margin and the time it takes to assemble these just isn't worth it to me. each board that messes up, you have to sell another to break even.

I've got to leave in 5 hours to work a free 12 hour shift at the emergency room, so i'm just scrambling to get some orders out at this point.

Let me know if you have any left over that you need to unload, I may just go to the original thread and order up some there though. Unless you are getting them soon and it will help you out to dump the others off on me.

I just ordered a 100 boards and as a bonus, left you a nice Irish blessing. No charge!

P.S. I am not Irish, just to be clear. I just left the Irish blessing because I wanted to leave one.

Bought 100 boards, ill probably buy 10x of the parts and attempt to put a few together... If I am able to do it by hand decently, ill probably put a few dozen up for sale(with the permission of Ben of course).
If I do end up wanting to sell these things, well it's a good excuse to finally get a better soldering iron/DIY reflow oven ;)

That's a nice guideline to follow RHD. Thanks for the reflow advice. I'm expecting my boards tomorrow and apparently some hosts are here from HK too!!! Maybe yours too... Also Moh if you have an order for me not made yet. dont worry about it till ya catch up!!! Get a Breather in!

If anyone buys boards, and want parts to assemble the 100, I have ordered 1000 inductors to save on price from digikey, and can reship to you for cheaper than they sell them. I will also include free 100k ohm resistors.

PM me for details.

You guys like to buy in large quantity. I would never use that much for personal use. :)

I'm buying so I can have something to assemble and contribute while I'm waiting for other projects :)

I won't use 100... But I sure can help Mo recup his losses, and help a few members get the drivers they want. If I can make 2-3$ in the process, bonus!

Thanks, just trying to get involved in the community a bit, get some rep. going and make some friends.

I'll let you know once DK ships to me, it should only take 24-48h to get here once it ships

Noob question...

I ordered a hundred of these.

Which version of the board are we getting? Is the with OVP circuit?

Which parts should we order and which circuit are these boards?

I'm just not sure which fork Moh's board is - I'll go back and try to figure for myself, but it might be a good idea to put all of that in one post.

Does that make sense or am I being obtuse? :)

it's the R6 (fork again) R9

this link should bring up a mouser cart with all the components for 50 drivers, just adjust quantity as needed. This does NOT include set resistor.
http://www.mouser.com:80/ProjectManager/ProjectDetail.aspx?AccessID=4c9f11e8d7

to choose your resistors:
package/case: 0805 resistors

0.19 / R = A

R = resistance in Ohms
A = output in amps.

Keep in mind if you're going to be making a batch of 50, it might be worth it to take the inductors out of the cart, and send me a pm. I'll get them to you for about 30% cheaper which comes to a saving of about 18$ for 100 pieces.
