daguin: rocks? oh my that must be a pretty penny in shipping

The money isn't that much of an issue. Shipping cost is just factored in to the selling price. The point was that when shipping "heavy" items "surface", it can take up to 60 days to get here!!!

You learn (or earn) patience when dealing with China ;)

I think others have found your source Omega (or maybe you found theirs)... hence all the cheap PHR803T 'pre orders' going on now. If you ever order some, I'd buy a few.

I'm not sure if China is producing more PHR803Ts, but we've been buying a lot. If all the diodes are from the HDDVD burners, I think we might run out soon. anyone's thoughts?

good luck,
Kendall

i do believe atleast someone has found mine, the representative contacted me again as to if i had received the samples yet (which i havent yet :( im hoping for tomorrow) and she told me that she shipped the same product to another person in the USA and they already received theirs.
im hoping that they still have some, because id really like to put something into this community and not be just a bystander.

Good news!
Just got the package of two samples today!
The envelope it was in looked like it was attacked by coyotes, but the box inside that was fine.
Inside that box (hah, feels like a nesting doll) was two small boxes, in each, a lovely PHR-803T sled :D
I know why they were marked "bad". On one the lends assembly is bent a bit, and on the other its just barely holding on.
The rest of it looks fine, the metal band around the diode doesnt have any damage to it, and the diode looks A okay in its heatsink.
Tomorrow i should be soldering the driver together (note to self, buy assembled ones...) as well as putting all this together.
Chances are ill temporarily use a 9 volt to power it till i get my host and batteries, thats fine, no?

Yeah, 9V is usually good for PHR803T diodes, they take about 5V drop. And it is much easier to purchase [link=http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1209418066]Lava Flexdrives[/link] or [link=http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1206947255]Rkcstr Microdrivers[/link] :)

good luck,

Hey, this sounds like a good deal. Put me down for 2 or 3 of them

How much are you expecting to sell them for if you dont mind me asking?

EDIT:

NM, I'm prolly going to jump in on a GB with ScopeGuy.

Okay guys, sorry this is taking forever.
Quite frankly im not sure if im going to go through with this, i dont know if i found his, or he found mine, but ndrew's current preorders are from the same source that ive been contacting.
Is there really a point to having two selling from one source?
Eh, i tried :/
