Yeah, 9V is usually good for PHR803T diodes, they take about 5V drop. Just got the package of two samples today!
The envelope it was in looked like it was attacked by coyotes, but the box inside that was fine.
Inside that box (hah, feels like a nesting doll) was two small boxes, in each, a lovely PHR-803T sled
I know why they were marked "bad". On one the lends assembly is bent a bit, and on the other its just barely holding on.
The rest of it looks fine, the metal band around the diode doesnt have any damage to it, and the diode looks A okay in its heatsink.
Tomorrow i should be soldering the driver together (note to self, buy assembled ones...) as well as putting all this together.
Chances are ill temporarily use a 9 volt to power it till i get my host and batteries, thats fine, no?
