Here are some pictures of some parts done so far:
In these first two pictures, all of the mounting blocks as well as the flashlight and laser parts were anodized.

This shows an example of a polished part being anodized; It offers a glossier finish:

This knob was polished before being anodized, and has a very thick and hard layer on it. Certainly a gorgeous knob that will stand up to quite a beating.

Re: Now Offering Anodizing Services!

How expensive is it going to be??

I will discuss this with my dad today to calculate a reasonable price for the time and materials, but it should be fairly reasonable. It is going to rely a good bit on quanity as well.

We can get it many different colors, as it isn't too expensive to add a different color. I'll purchase colors as people are interested in them. ;)

Question/food for thought for you...

A lot of people are likely to have completed builds, that they wouldn't mind having anodized.

Will you be taking on only bare hosts, or are you willing to receive finished lasers, take them apart, and put them back together after?

Also how much to do a kryton smooth?

Taking lasers apart is not a problem, however, I would much prefer the diode and driver to be removed beforehand. I do not want to have the liability for damaging someones laser. Taking apart an entire host though without those components will be fine. Also to consider is if the host or parts already have a coating, this will need to be removed, and will increase the cost. I will get back to you on the Kryton, still working on same basic pricing.

Where you get the Kryton Smooth?

I have three hosts I picked a while back... it's not even a finished smooth really, no switch, just the tube, but with ano, I think it would look good.

Looking good. Do we have to pay for a whole batch? So say 5 people wanted to do it, and all the parts would fit into one batch, would they all pay $20 each?

Well, I would rather not be holding parts waiting for people to send me enough parts to batch. I think it would be best if people coordinated their orders on this thread, and perhaps I could update the OP with people currently interested, although I don't really have the extra time to try to keep tabs on what everyone is trying to get anodized and what colors, so preferably, if people could get together on their own to submit an order, I would much appreciate it.

Oh sweet, once jay's finished I'm sending that part back to you (provided not everything is attached too tightly)

Ya, well perhaps it'd be best to send me the heatsink and bezel before he installs the laser. I'd rather not be playing with that expensive module... ;)
