Re: FS: "Ribbed Silver" - Original Slim Pocket 445nm @ 465mW (Chrome/SS)

EDIT: Just LPM'd it with a fresh IMR cell, and it hits 506mW. Updating OP.

I have the same build, except for using a flexdrive in the one I put together. This is an awesome little laser folks, and about the tiniest I've seen. It's smaller than both the Ultrafire F23 and the no-name Police 3W.

And, the twisty switch can actually be used as a momentary on/off instead byt tightening the tailcap till it lases then backing it off just a bit./ Just make sure to loosen it a half turn or so before dropping it back in your pocket, or else there's likely to be a little guy down there that ain't so happy! :D

Good luck with your sale RHD!

Thought this thread deserved a bump and had something to mention as well.

I know the IMR's ae supposed to be high current (capable of putting out up to 10X the stated mAh, but I have found that I actually get higher currents using the ICR series.

I realize that the battery life will be greatly shortened, but for those looking to get the most power out of a tiny laser it may not really matter.

On my F23 build I get 900mW using an IMR 10440, but 1250mW with the ICR 10440. Not to shabby an increase I'd say. :D

Where do you guys get ICR and IMR 10440's? The only 10440's I see on lighthound are ultrafire and standard AW.

Free bump :)

Re: FS: "Ribbed Silver" - Original Slim Pocket 445nm @ 500mW (Chrome/SS)

I've found that a great source of good batteries will often be "e cigarette" web stores. Apparently whatever those devices do requires high drain batteries.

Often they won't be well described as "ICR" or whatever cells on the site, but rather will just say "high drain". Once you receive them though, they'll have the markings. It's hit and miss, but I've found good CR2 and 10440 cells this way.

Still looking for some decent lithium ion 32600 / 32650 cells at under $10 each though...... :(
