I built the actual host heatsink & laser a couple months ago but just got around to finishing the focus ring yesterday. Overall, there is less than one battery charge amount of use on the laser (for assembly, testing, and current setting). Everything is basically brand new.

The body is a modfied AA keychain flashlight... case-negative & fits 14500 batteries. As seen in the pics, the heatsink/pill is one solid piece of copper machined to fit the diode and Microboost. There is even a small machined heatsink that goes directly on the Microboost IC for maximum heatsinking to the larger heatsink. The microboost and mini heatsink are secured using arctic silver thermal epoxy/adhesive. The whole pill/heatsink is machined to be slip-fit inside the host and installed with actic-silver 5 to aid heat transfer to the case even more. I think the AS5 somehow stained the copper heatsink a bit (see pic) but it's not seen when the focus ring is installed. The + battery contact is made from a pcb board permaently epoxied to the back of the pill. Two small set screws keep the assembly secure and it can be disassembled with a .050" allen wrench. The focus ring is chromate coated (passivated) polished aluminum and holds an aixiz 405/445 coated lens. It focuses at infinity when screwed almost all the way in (as seen in pictures).

Diode is an A140 driven by a DrLava MicroBoost set to 760mA. Onivously, an A140 can handle more power and should have great life set at this current... but the current was chosen because I didn't want to stress 14500 batteries. Current draw on the 900mAh Trusfire batteries should be around 1.6C and at 760mA input, the diode should be outputting around 650mA through the aixiz coated lens. It's certainly a great beam/burner for such a compact host.

Two brand new Trustfire 900mA 14500 batteries will be included... I tested each and they measured 4.1v straight out of the box this morning. If more power is desired, I'd recommend different batteries. Lighthound sells some safe chemistry 8C rated LiMN 14500 batteries... those would easily (and safely) drive this laser over 1W.

Price: $160 or best offer (USPO MO or Paypal)
Price includes USPS shipping to CONUS... international please PM me first.
I will not be held responsible for confiscation or customs violations.

Sexy build. A bit pricey for my blood (hell, anything that I didn't DIY is a bit pricy for my blood) but I am sure this will sell quickly.

Generally speaking, I try to avoid buying lasers (especially when I don't have lots of expendable money). However, this looks like a solid build and I recommend it to anyone (not that it matters what I think :p ).

That is a very nice little build. I just bought another 445nm yesterday though... my wallet is really starting to hurt.

Good luck with the sale... don't think you need much luck with this one though:beer:

Give me till Monday or Tuesday to see if I get any money in, and if I do I'll try to take it off your hands.

I've already spent way more than I dhould have on laser stuff anyway. :)

Nice heatsink design. How the **** did you solder that inside that small space though ? :)
