I am interested in buying a laser pointer capable of burning matches/pop balloons.
I do not care about the casing or even how nice it looks. It just needs to be operational.
also looking for a very high powered in the 150-400mw laser.
I am needing it quick
WIlling to spend anywhere from $10-$150
please respond if interested or you know a place where i could fine one.
I am also looking for a class 4 laser.

Any preference on the wavelength? IR good enough? Any visible class 4 laser is very expensive, unless you go for 808nm. You won't (and in my opinion shouldn't) find this in a pointer ready for sale. You best bet for a class 3B would be a 650nm diode from a DVD burner fitted in a pointer/host. Fits in the price range and can reach 240mW.

Also take in the price of decent goggles, especially with a class 4 you should NOT save on goggles but buy proper rated and certified goggles.

Any reason why? It just seems a little irresponsible to come out of nowhere, new to the forums, saying you want a burning laser no matter what! Maybe you should start first with just some fun, safe lasers such as a cheap 5mW green.

I take it you are looking for an assembled laser. There are usually good deals available in the BST section from other members. Any visable laser in the 300-400mw range will be expensive, not to mention dangerous. If you are getting something that powerful, certified safety goggles are a must, and cost a significant amount.

You will not be able to buy a real 150-400mW laser pointer for $10-$150. A well built 100mW+ Green Laser with an IR filter will cost at least $200.

I have a 125mW Viper laser pointer I'm looking to sell that is worth about $300. If anyone wants to buy it let me know. I'm going to upgrade soon to a Hulk Ultra so I have no need for the Viper anymore.

I think a 650nm will do fine for burning! :san:

You can also visit o-like.com, they sell a 180-200mw 650nm that will do what you want it to do.

I got my first burning laser from O-Like for 54 USD. It is a 200mW red burning laser. They are pretty amazing.
I was looking to buy a green burning laser pointer at first but I decided to go with red because they don't pump out IR and are cheaper.

If you are ready to fork out some more money, then I recommend a Dragonlasers Green 125mW Viper laser for burning. That's a good start. If you want EVEN MORE burning power then buy the Hulk from Dragonlasers.
There are many red lasers from Dragonlasers that burn too. The reason I don't mention them here is because if you are able to spend a lot of money on a burning laser then you should buy a green laser because they burn better.

I hope I helped,

KE73 --- You say this is for a lab experiment. What lab are you working for and why do you not use punctuation in your grammar? What lab environment accepts this communication?

Silvercookie ---- You are right. I'm sorry all to hell.
We have a person who on his first post is looking for a BURNING laser for a LAB experiment and he has no specifications as to what he really needs. He doesen't even know what wavelength is needed but so long as it will BURN -- it's OK. REALLY......
OK -- I will post no more on this thread. Give him everything he wants for whatever purpose.

You were absolutely right Mike. This forum has gone downhill steeply in the past few months. A lot of the people here now days are very naive...quite sad actually.
