I bought an adjustable (focusable) 45$ red olike laser, curious how much it would cost to use the same driver with a green diode and switch out the lenses so it is always a tight beam with one specific point and at like 30 feet it has the same size dot as it does from 3 feet.

Any help is appreciated, looking for a price range, the driver is setup for a 200mw red diode which I would much prefer green and not have to adjust it every 2 seconds, It feels like it was intended to burn only while I need it to be a regular strong laser pointer for specific tasks.

so
Exchange the Red for Green 200mw
Exchange the lenses to give it a solid tight dot.

Also how much it would run to have someone do this so it will be perfect. :thanks:

Ummm huh?

You are wanting to swap the red diode for a green diode?! unless you have a few hundred dollars laying around you arent gonna get a green diode. A green dpss module cant be ran off the same driver as that red ;)

I suggest just buying a green pointer.

lol go read a little more about green lasers and youll see theyre not that simple
1. you cant afford a "green diode"
2. they use 808nm diode with crystals to make 532nm
3. just go buy a green laser because a green module probly wont fit in that host
4. no laser has perfect divergence it will never be the same size at 3ft as it is at 30ft

i thought green diodes were a couple grand??? with very limited power

This can't work at all actually. Have you read the stickies yet? Those will easily answer your questions. There is a lot to explain-

We don't have any green laser diodes for our use.

Look up something called divergence.

This will help, but only if you do some looking!

LMAO you dont understand, meatball now thats a reasonable answer thats the entire damn thing, a lot more than expected and much better answer. You can use the green driver with diff comp to it, you can use the same housing with "Modifications" and its all cheaper than a few hundred (so far 140 shipped and we wouldnt have to use the same driver) I am looking for someone that knows what they are doing please other no that will never work answers are silly.

Good answer at the end by the way.

and as for same size from 3ft-30 LMFAO

You stand in one spot shine it at the ground then shine it at a house its the same size to you with the normal setup HAHAHAHAHAH.

I really hope English isn't your first language, someone care to translate because I couldn't make sense of it :(

Everyone that answered you "knows what they are doing". If you think those answers are silly, why not elaborate your questions better so that we understand what answers you want?

yes to you but its not the same size in actuallity. if you focused your laser correctly it should "look" the same size.

maybe if youd listen to the people trying to help you instead of laughing at them you would see that theres probly not anybody thats gonna do this for you. just go buy a green laser

They dont know what im doing which is why I must laugh becuase it has to be unclear, i did however explain it to help, I can do this project my self but not sure it would turn out nearly as well. Plenty of people on the forum, bound to be one that has experience and is willing to do the work for a price.

as for the 3-30 of course its bigger thats like the first thing you learn and with the O-Like its either small away and big close or vice versa no in the middle sadly

again, not laughing at anyone just laughing at the entire confusion of the situation.

Was laughing at grix slightly.

Goo Gah Gah was my first language.

This thread is confusing me...
you were laughing at grix before he had ever said anything?
if you were looking for a laser that has the same size dot at 30 feet as it does at 3 feet, you aren't going to find one.

Just because some people responded to your request for a "green diode" as impossible because they are rare and expensive (which they are) doesn't make them "silly answers."

What you are looking for is not a green diode if I am correct, but a green module?
