Re: August 6th *****MEGA*****Raffle ! UPDATE !!

Ahh sorry Greg , I didn't know they quoted this thread to you , What a sad little individual, with obviously nothing better to do in his life. I almost feel sorry for the little maggot, then common sense prevails and jolts me back to reality.

Where there is means, there is always a way ;)

I don't understand -- I bought 6 pieces of printed paper which may or may not be worth a thing. You can do that on fleabay anytime. Pictures, toast with Jesus burned into it etc etc.

Keep the suggestions rolling in, folks - it may only need a disclaimer added to it, and a tiny change in procedures to make it legal with pay-pal....this WILL be figured out, I assure you !

Wait, noooo, I'm a long time lurker and just registered and noticed this, I'm too late to be able to send and you receive a money order! :(

Any chance you could receive the money after you do the drawing?

Relax - this is on hold until I figure out the appropriate way to do it. If you care to send a MO now, you can go ahead, just make sure you EMAIL me as well, letting me know that it is inbound ! I almost have all the wording figured out 100% - so nobody will be able to call "foul" or anything like that !

Hey Senkat,

Have you considered the disclaimer option yet? if you don't want to take the risk of getting your paypal account confiscated, there is also an easy alternative to accept payments.

if you got a google account (eg. gmail) you can easily open your own google checkout seller account at: http://checkout.google.com/sell/

This way you can still accept fast payments made by creditcards, and as a bonus, no fees on incoming funds till 2008

Maybe this helps to prevent the admin-struggle with postal money orders and checks.

On second thought... I would still need to send it to PayPal so I can send it to Tony... so it's useless... :( :-/

Won't it make a differince in acceptance fees ? if you use google checkout for payment acceptance not 1 $ will be held for payment fees.

especially the 3% and 6% (extremely high for digital payment imho) extra fee will be saved when adding Google checkout as an option.

The only thing that stays the same, is the overall payment you make to Tony by paypal. so thats only a one-time fee you will have to pay. (not twice by collecting and forwarding the payment)

Can you send funds from Google checkout to PayPal?

Tony uses PP, not GC :-/

Maybe we should keep it as it is for this buy and use GC for later purchases... just to be on the safe side. I think the Raffle idea would be great though through GC :)

Re: August 6th *****MEGA*****Raffle ! UPDATE !!

A quick search has found that PP has many very bad situations involving raffles and ticket sales.

Although, GC has the following posted:
http://checkout.google.com/seller/content_policies.html

Unacceptable product categories Examples
...
...
...
Gaming/gambling Lottery tickets, sports bets, memberships/ enrollment in online gambling sites, and related content

Gambling, yes - raffles are not specifically prohibited, and niether are "memberships" which is what this will become, as soon as my google checkout is verified. You will buy a membership to my website (stonetek.org) and the "loot" mentioned in the first post of this thread will be given out to members only, and randomly selected from their membership numbers that are issued at the time of registration. "Membership" will still be $5 each, or 6 membership pledges for $25.00. Once enough members have joined up, we will award the prizes out to those stonetek.org members !
