Hey, I was going to sell This!. It can burn things! New in Box Nova Lasers X85 tested by Nova at 98.3 mw Avg. and 109.1 mw Peak. Thanks , but, I'm keeping it! I must'a been crazy! I have now sold several smaller greenies, so, I'm soon to buy a Blue laser from LaserGlow !! ;D ;D ;D note: I sold the Galileo and a modded Core on 11-10-07! :) :) :) Also I had some very inexpensive dichroic filters for combining colors of beams. Gone, but can get more! ::) Sorry if you were scraping together the change, it was always tough to give up this elegant Nova. It's worth more to me than the new cost, (no wait) so, my advice is: Write or take some cool laser experiments or pictures and videos and send them to Nova, then with a few bucks kicked in, buy one of those Nova products! I am sure glad I did! By the way A BIG Thanks again to all the great people making the Forum the best and helping us all out!

Re: 2 MEAN GREENIES! THEY BURN! MAKE OFFER!

Perhaps I am missing something, but the Galileo on Laserglow's website only goes for $89.00 U.S.....why are you wanting so much extra for yours ?  I gather it is a freak unit - have these units been tested by yourself, or simply Nova and Laserglow ? (nothing wrong with THEIR testing, just asking)  How old is the Nova X-85 ?  You say, "new in box" - is it unopened, and does it come with the hard aluminum case ?

Re: 2 MEAN GREENIES! THEY BURN! MAKE OFFER!

THANKS Senkat! I welcome your comments and thoughts! The box option I got with the Nova X85 (measured by Nova by the way) is the cardboard cheepie. I got the unit and was super happy with it's power, but the spousal type unit says, "no buying dangerous stuff, you can't afford" so I think it scares her too much. I really want to get a blue or yellow from LaserGlow, and have $70 credit with them. My cash is very rare these days though. :'( I just bought them, and have barely turned 'em on at all. I have 3 no 4 other greenies, so I really don't need these! The LaserGlow is the model before they started putting a Galileo logo on it and with a lens it zapped a balloon in the blink of an eye. I can't properly test it's power as my meter is for 632.8 nm (do you know the conversion?) Also my meter relies on a filter to get the input to <20 mW so the accuracy is decreased. It would be very interesting to know the exact output power of the Galileo, but I would bet good $ it's over 50 mW! I would not call this a freek unit as the model is able to output a lot more than 5 mW, they (LaserGlow) usually tune them very low, (<5mW), from what the units can do for legal/ safety reasons. I really want to cash in some stuff, and I make great jewelry as well. (web below) I know that you can buy a Galileo from laserGlow for about $97 shipped, but it will be outputting ~4.5 mW so I think mine is worth some extra. I can still get my wish if I go down ~15% and sell it if buyer pays shipping and insurance. That's as low as I can go.

Re: 2 MEAN GREENIES! THEY BURN! MAKE OFFER!

Just to be clear, the Nova X-85 is ~100 mW the Galileo SOLD! :) :) :) looks about as bright, but I can't measure it with accuracy, I do know, though, that with a lens it popped a balloon in no more than a 1/10th second which gives me a idea that it is > 50mW easy! If I have a buyer, I would be glad to have someone (maybe pseudonomen137) test it and send it to you as a a third party as a middleman in the trade. It protects seller and buyer. He can tell exactly what the power is.

Hey - is the Galileo a constant on/off switch ? Or is it a momentary switch in the tailcap ?

The Galileo has a constant on switch in the tail. The click is very positive unlike the tail clicker in my Dealextreeme 10mW.

Yes! The Nova Lasers X-85 is a model that has a momentary switch. What do you want it for Chevy-ss?

Re: 2 MEAN GREENIES! THEY BURN! MAKE OFFER!

I want to just have a little fun and maybe let the dogs chase the spot. On the Nova X-85, would that be safe to play with the dogs, assuming I don't shine it in their eyes? Let's assume that the beam did cross over a dog's (or human) eye for the briefest time, would that do any damage?
