Where is the switch? At the end ?

Okay, here's another beamshot - less exposed.

Eud: You probably made the heatsink for this build eh?

You mentioned that you can feel the heat after ~1 minute. This build is a bit different. It's a fairly efficient diode. After the 5 minute duty cycle that I LPM'd it for, you could feel heat, no doubt. But 60 seconds of run time is almost nothing for this guy. That makes him "warm" at best :)

If someone else hadn't of mentioned it, I'd of thought it was my eyes .

It looks blue(er) sure, but if you compare the beam, to the reflected light hitting the heatsink and inner focus ring, there's a distinct difference, I cant make head not tails of it

Ya - that's what I was saying earlier. The light looks too purple to me, if anything. I think I need better RAW processing settings.

If anyone else processes RAW beamshots, maybe they can send me their setting templates? I would imagine any settings used on a Canon DSLR would work.

Well that didn't take long. :)

I'm hoping the buyer will post their impressions of color / relative brightness once they receive it. I'm convinced there is a huge difference in color with these higher wavelength diodes.

Every time someone who is skeptical of the wavelength color difference, sees a high-wavelength-binned diode in person, next to a 445, the say the same thing. WOW!

It always passes the "disinterested girl test" - ie, totally non laser people can tell the difference. That's the real mark of a real difference, vs one that you ambitiously force yourself to see ;)

It's easy to tell the difference for people who have an old A140 build at a lower current. I put my A140 build next to a 9mm diode running at a high current and the difference was astounding!

The A140 looks very purple-blue and the 9mm looks deep blue.

Nice, you know it's cool when it passes the "disinterested girl test". Glad we have a name for it now.

i see the same thing with a pocket mini i got from yob and the 458 argon. the mini is a 400mw build with the a140 and it looks positively purple next to the 458. rhd, the pics look like 473 to me tho....

I just got a new DSLR and this (http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/fs-solarforce-2-1w-451nm-w-g1-lens-magic-buck-driver-76494.html) is the first set of photos I've shot with it. For whatever reason, it's a lot easier to do the colour balancing from RAW correctly. That doesn't really make sense because my old DSLR was technically a higher grade, but the photos really show it. The colour of that SolarForce should be somewhat close to the colour of this build here. This build has 3nm on the SolarForce, so it will skew a bit further into the cyan range - but it's pretty close.

yeah, that's a lot closer. no criticism intended, you take good pix :)
i'm not sure if the beam can be captured....

Hey RHD!

What a nice host you got there! Black goes well with blue xP. I especially like how the blue light reflects at the head of the host, almost making it look like blue glass... Maybe it's just the picture, but it still looks very cool.

I have to ask, what your asking price is, since ryansoh3 commented on how cheap it was. I don't see the price anywhere, please tell me x).
Also, do you ship to Europe?

Great stuff.... blue eye-candy!:)
