I need basically a 405nm gunsight laser to be mounted on the bottom of the gun via rails. the gun is a 9mm glock. PM me with prices and shipping times.

5mW of 405nm would be VERY hard to see at any distance. in direct sunlight it will be impossible to see even 100mW of blu-ray at even a few feet

Whoa! Seriously? I've seen BR visible in light areas, but not specifically in direct sunlight. That's rather saddening to me.

outside on a sunny day blu-ray is almost not even visible, even over 150mw of green in direct sunlight appears dim

I've made custom hand gun laser sights before and would be no issue to make one for you if that is really all you want is 5mw. However, like maxkillz has indicated, it will not be very visible.

Something tells me bluray wouldn't be the best choice of laser for aiming on a gun... as it messes with your eyes and it's harder to see the further away you point it.

Here's a better option than the BR (IMHO) - this is one of the nicer sights being imported right now, it has externally adjustable X and Y axis for sighting in as well as a set of locks to hold the diode in place once sighted in, it's weatherproof, 35mW 535nm green, puts about a 2.2cm dot "on target" at 60yds, and is daylight visible to right about 60yds in sunlight, more in dusk or overcast (obviously). The mount is designed to absorb recoil to keep from going out of sight, and the actual "gun-mount" is designed for a standard "weaver" or "Pickatinny" mount (which if I recall, should be fine clamped upside-down on a 17 or 19).

This model is the JBS-016 (manufacturer unknown) - I was ordering these for awhile through tactical gear depot (until they got squirrelly with US shipment) but haven't seen this model on their site in awhile (they have a model L-16 which looks similar but has a few small differences cosmetically which makes me think they switched suppliers, plus the new ones are around $60 while these were $96)... You might be able to hunt one down (no pun intended) on the web, though...

As to refitting the host, the trouble is that the end of the module that houses the lens is designed with a narrow barrel (the module is standard 12mm but shoulders down to 8mm at the lens) to be able to slide into the X/Y axis adjusting rings ... seriously not worth even TRYING to engineer around.

I have 2 left and might be convinced to part with one (I too have been looking for a new sight supplier and was going to go back to TGD until I was emailed with a refusal of my last attempt at ordering because I was in the US) - If you want more detailed pix PM me and we could go from there. The kit includes laser sight, mount, tailcap switch, remote (handgrip or stock) pressure switch, (1) CR123 battery, velcro to mount the pressure switch, and allen wrenches for disassembly and locking.

It should work on any semi-auto with a dovetail mount at the lower front of the reciever (right in front of the trigge guard, there should be a groove on either side of the frame at the bottom, below the slide) ... If you have a Glock 17 or 19, I believe it will fit either one, although you might want to shorten the mount between sections 2 and 3 if it's too long (the included mount consissts of 3 sections or clamps, and may be longer than your dovetail, you can just dremel off the last section to shorten it if you wish.).

Returning youir PM now

Here's a pic to clarify the shortening (I turned the mount in the box so you could see the sections easier - the splits go approximately halfway around the mount so to shorten it you could use a saw or possibly careful dremel work to just seperate the mount at one of the splits)...

Also, the silver part in the box that wasn't in pic 1 is the button "on-off" tailcap that also comes with the kit, you unscrew the tailcap and remove the pressure switch and it can be replaced with the twist switch if desired (to allow the laser to stay "on" for extended periods, although with a limited heatsinking on the diode I wouldn't recommend a long duty cycle).
