I am seriously considering a +3W 9mm 450nm laser build with an all copper sink or a
new next generation 405nm +700mW build in "all copper sink".
Also, I am also wanting to start building my own builds... sigh space is at a premium at present.

Currently I own 2 well known builds and love both immensely. My 405nm build was built with the utmost care by Dave and has 100's of hours of use. The 450nm Sabertwins by rhd is also a great build too. (note to rhd, check pm)

If you have any lasers that fit the above description let me know.
I am all ears!! Yes, I am in S.Korea and I would love to get back into lasers.

Thanks.

Well Happy Birthday, soon anyway and while I would suggest that this will be expensive the thought of a 9mm 445nm diode reaching 3W is not always a guarantee even with all the tricks cooling, lenses, and such.

I would suggest if your searching for such a critter that you kinda throw out the host type first. If the choice builders feel good about the host then maybe they would be inspired to work on that for you. Still the 3W your looking for might not be achievable without the "right" diode. Good luck

Good to know about the 9mm diodes. I see most hit 2.8W and a few are upwards of ~2.9W-3.0W. Even with the upper level 2.9-3.0W, I would be quite content.
I was contemplating about a shorty 2 D cell Maglight host. Something that could distribute heat well..

Failing that, the second laser on my list is a SAIK 12X S06J...

Thank you for the info.
I will keep my head up for hosts. I'd really like to find something well built and unique.

It is always nice giving yourself a laser present. :)

Do you have though about my Dominator laser with a personal logo ?
I was thinking about making two copper version of the Dominator. One for myself and the other is well free. :)

Not all 9mm diodes can reach 3 Watt mark easily. Especially running them at 2.1A but sometimes an efficient 9mm diode exist. I could ramped up the current but that is less preferable.

Out of four 9mm diodes I've had only one reach 3W (at 2A) I dislike the idea of pushing the 9mm's to get 3W, it just makes them degrade faster so you wont have a 3W laser for long.

That's good to know. If the 9mm diodes can seldom hit 3W, then I'd go to the upper 2W spectrum (~2.7W). That's fine. My idea is to have a long lasting laser.

@Blord: The dominator sounds like an interesting host in the sense that it's copper!!
@Cheech226:
btw, speaking of PMs, I'm noticing that my PMs aren't sending as they should. I have double checked all my settings. They're all good. I should have 2 or 3 PMs, but ever since the last server fix, I've noticed something isn't quite right.
Anyone else not receiving or sending PMs? Try again?:huh:

A copper Dominator is possible. I sent you a PM but I get this. You need to allow PM in your settings.

Seoul_lasers has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.

If you are trying to send this message to multiple recipients, remove Seoul_lasers from the recipient list and send the message again.

I have reset all my settings and checked "allow PM" in my settings.
hmm :(

I've contacted admin.

btw, thanks for the information. now I know why I'm not getting the messages I should.:thanks:
