Hi there! I'm extremely new to the laser community and I'm looking for a handheld laser that would output ~1W of power. I've heard some pretty bad things about Wicked Lasers so I was wondering what is a better alternative? I live in the US and I am in the price range of at most around $320 and this is mostly just for fun really. Thanks! Oh and of course I would like this laser to have an extremely long range, burning capabilities, etc. Thanks for the help!

P.S. DIY would be acceptable if it produces similar or identical results for less money

Hi, welcome to the forums. There are lots of 1W lasers out there, but If I where you, I would order from one of three places #1 being the best.

Or the buy, sell, trade section. Good Luck. :D

Thanks! I will definitely buy from them when ready. Which should be in a couple weeks! Also any idea if this one would be alright? It's driven at 1.2W but I believe it's the same diode so not sure if that'd have a noticeable effect on battery life/heat production. RIFLE 445nm - Full 1.2W Focusable Blue Laser Pointer

Battery life would be shorter, and you will not notice the brightness difference at all, and burning stuff would not be all that much better with 1.2W, but on the other hand, for 20$ more, its worth getting the 1.2W version.
