Spydy yes i know not to put the thermopile into a box. dont need to, it doesnt have buttons and exposed pcb board and resistor components showing!!!!


I got everything today!!! EXCEPT, no LaserBee I LPM :'(

Hey John i know your post was a while ago nice build by the way, but how do you mange to get at the buttons whilst it's in the box? I can't see any button holes :-?.

Or is it possible to control it all via you pc?

Just had to get a usb to 9 pin adaptor has anyone else had to connect theirs like this?

So you mention to not mount the thermopile sensor in a box. Can it be mounted if there is air circulation (active or passive)?

on mine it zeros itself out each time its turned on and then also resets so if i measure a laser it will show peak .so if i want to measure another i turn it off then back on -I know but i havent figured the button thingy out yet ;D

Nice to know it zeros itslef so you don't have to take everything apart, I'm not sure how im doing it yet but it will definatly be in some sort of enclosure, so then we're both gonna have a button thingy to figure out ;D

Hey BB...

Yes it can... if you allow some circulation of air (passive)... you should have no problems....
Because there is a very small  temperature differential between the Sensor element and the Radiator,
you must make sure that the heat generated by any tests does not build up inside a sealed enclosure.
By keeping the Radiator's temperature constant... it ensures that your tests have repeatable results. :cool:

Hey John,
there is nothing to figure out.... On the 2nd page of the Instructions... the last paragragh
states......."Press and hold the Enter [EN] button until the Peak reading
is Reset." ::)

Hey Sam...
all you need to do is add some wires to the existing switches and connect these
wires to 3 other switches on your enclosure... You are just paralleling the Normally Open Push Button
switches on the PCB.. You don't need to remove the PBs from the PCB.. ;)

We do a similar thing when assembling the Deluxe LaserBee Is. :)

cheers Jerry I should of thought this through more clearly, lol it never even occured to me to attach some more switches in parallel, i was thinkin mechanical buttons poking through and hopefully lining up right. ::)

Hey Sam....
you can not control the LaserBee I through the Serial Port.... :'(

On page #3 of the LaserBee I's User Instructions it mentions the USB to RS232 converter if your
computer does not have an RS232 port. ;)

In stock there are plenty at a regular higher price .... On this special price Sale there are 6 LaserBee Is
with the Data Logging Option included left.

You got me... what Serial port plug are you referring to.. :-?
