Hello guys !

I recently got a 1W LaserBee meter. I thought that I should give some services back to the community that helped me with my laser needs !

I know there are a lot of people on this forums who do not have a laser power meter of their own, and would like to know the power of their laser.

I'm offering to meter your laser, all you need to do is pay shipping charges both ways. I will return the laser with tracking and insurance for however much the laser is worth, it would be good if you could also do the same.

Since the LaserBee uses a thermal head sensor, I can measure any wavelength at any power between 5mW and 1050mW.

I would also like to review lasers that people send to me for metering, granted this is okay with whoever owns the laser, especially if the laser comes from somewhere like wicked lasers, CNI or another famous company.

I hope my offer can help many people here, and I hope this is enough to give something back to the community.

Please send me a PM if you are interested.

thanks,

-Adam

Diachi, that's quite a nice offer and I'm sure you will get a few requests down the road

We will all benefit from the reviews as well  :D

You might want to mention that you're in Scotland (oops, I just did!) - it seems that there are many EU members without access to meters quite as readily as here in the states.

+1 rep points for offering to help the forums!

Yeah, I can finally give some information back to the community. Hope my service can be used to the best of it's ability :)

Thanks man ! Yeah I should have mention where I am, but anyway just hope I can help :)

I've been doing it for awhile. It really doesn't happen very often. Most people are "curious" but don't really "need" to know bad enough to ship their lasers to someone. Most of them have been people who live close enough to me to just drop by.

I think (and am pleased) that it is really just an excuse to meet them in person. ;)

Peace,

I still think it is a very nice gesture from a 15 year old... even if there are
no takers...

I know how he feels when i got my Laserbee-1 I measured every laser in the house and then some i brought some home from work and measured them too
I ran out of lasers to test thats another reason why i try to at least purchse 1 monthly minimum ;)

I was thinking of shipping one to Adam (Diachi) before I realized he is in Scotland...

I am working on a simple laser power meter, and wanted to double check its accuracy. I was thinking of building up a test laser, a bit like they did in the "Power Meter Calibration and Comparison thread."

I have a laser that is very stable with a LM317 current regulator, running well under its rated power, yet it still drifts a few percent with warmup and temperature changes.

I was thinking of using a Laser Diode with optical feedback, either to stabilize the power, or to bring the signal out so it can be read as a voltage at the same time the the power is being measured.

Problem is, the only diodes I have that include the photodiode are IR, and I was hoping to go for the more generic 660 nm wavelength.

Anyone know of any cheap red LDs with photodiode that can do 100 mW or so?

My other idea was to drill a hole in the side of the Aixis housing and stick a photodetector in there.

Any thoughts?

So what is the problem with IR... the LaserBee I Thermopile Sensor can easily see
the IR wavelength.... ::)

You can stick a bit of glass at a 45* angle in the beam that reflects some of the light into a photo diode, that's how it's done in commercial lasers ;)

Sorry I'm unable to help you with metering. If you are in the US there are a number of members there who I'm sure would be willing to help you out ;)
