Yes it does... it looks just like the original Kenometer but in a
smaller enclosure (box)...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: you people are insane if you don't get one (and don't already have a meter). I've seen the thermopile itself go for $300 on eBay. This is like a huge Black Friday-type deal!

Must... resist... already have a Kenometer...

Kenom

I'll go in on this $150 deal as I have a few lasers now (either here or on their way in the coming weeks) and would love a power meter, but have no need for graphing so the lite version suits me fine.

I assume its not just for 532 nm laser, and will also work from 405 (blurays), argons, hene's and greenies?

I'm in australia, so let me know what shipping will be.

Cheers

The beauty of the thermopile: it works on virtually every wavelength. It's not some photodiode or something like that which requires wavelength-specific compensation and calibration, but a sensor that detects the amount of energy absorbed and converts it to a number. This is why the thermopile-based meters are just that much better than these other methods for measuring power.

Kenom ought to be selling these for $300-500 or more, and even that's a bargain. He must've struck a thermopile vein in his backyard or something to be able to offer these meters at this kind of price.

Yeah the Kenometers are not wavelength specific. Is capable of pretty much all visible light. Even up into the high IR wavelengths and down into the low UV wavelengths. Bionic is correct that the meters are a mad bargain.

vk2fro pm sent. Thanks for your interest.

Thanks Kenom

I'll be paying in around a week due to the credit card on my paypal expiring and the slow banking system here in australia. You have a reply to your PM.

Re: Kenometer laser power meter interest.

I wanted to update this thread with a new LITE version of the Kenometer. Essentially it's just a Thermopile head and a readout. It does not at this point have the ability to graph. Once the microcontroller portion is developed I will offer it as an upgrade. Pricing for the Lite version is $175.

Here's the thermopile.

Big hand! The thermopilo look nice.
