Effective immediately, any orders that do not have confirmed Pay-Pal addresses will be canceled, and the funds refunded. Delivery confirmation, and possibly insurance will also become mandatory (details by the end of the day) due to the overwhelming number of dishonest jackasses that are stating they have not received their items. That's it - if you do not fall into the category of dishonest jackass - then I am sorry to have to impose restrictions upon you - but to cover my finances, I have to do it. NOBODY who has placed a claim has honored the agreement that had to be agreed to in order to sign up on my site - so the new rules are effective immediately, and will be imposed on those orders that have not currently been shipped as well. refunds will be offered to those that do not want to pay the extra 25 cents or so, and I do not mind if you choose to exercise that right. Thanks for your attention, and continued support, and again, sorry I have to do this to those of you that are not dishonest jackasses. If your account has been canceled on my site, it means that you ARE one of those dishonest jackasses, and I really do not care what you think ;)

ASSHOLES!!!

The lack of ethics and character in people continues to amaze me. Virtually everything I ship now (worth over about $10) goes priority mail, insured, with signature confirmation. It increases the cost of what I sell, but it protects both buyer and seller. If I was doing this as a business, I would have a flat rate for priority shipping (with delivery confirmation) up to a certain weight (then use "actual" postage rate with the same confirmations).

It always irks me when I have to go down to the post office to pickup an inexpensive package from DX because I missed the delivery attempt that required a signature. It irks me, but I understand why they do it.

Peace,
dave

Wow. I never thought that kind of thing would be such a problem.

I think asking for only verified paypal accounts is a reasonable request though :)

What you can do is require from people that want to ship to an unconfirmed address and/or shipped by unregistered mail to send the payment as service/other,I'm almost sure that this type of payment is not eligible to a claim.

I think you need a credit card to have your address "confirmed." You enter the billing address of the credit card and Paypal uses that to confirm that it is your address. There may be another way, but you can find out by searching the PayPal site for "confirmed address'"

Oh well, in the help centre it says I need a credit card with a confirmed billing address. I have a bopo card (prepaid visa card) but now bill express went bankrupt (I think) and the bopo card is useless.

Dave is right a credit card helps with confirming an address, but it also depends on where you are. I am from Maine and I don't have a credit card on my PayPal and they confirmed my address. I think that it mostly matters on where you live i.e. living in a city/apartments might make it harder to get a confirmed address.

Don't give up. There may be another way to get your address confirmed. Email or call PayPal and explain the situation. Maybe they can send a letter with a code or something.

I got this off of PayPal's website.

How a buyer can confirm an address.

Inform your buyer about how to confirm their address by communicating the following options:

  1. Add a credit card to their PayPal account. PayPal will confirm the credit card billing address (the address where you receive your credit card statement).
  2. Apply for PayPal Buyer Credit. If they're approved, the address on your application will be a confirmed address.
  3. Alternate address confirmation. This process takes several days and is only available for U.S. accounts. To learn more, log in to your PayPal account and visit Alternate Address Confirmation.

Hope this helps.

BTW -- I LOL'd at the name of the card.

"Excuse me, but do you accept Bopo?"

"Anybody who's anybody has Bopo!"

"You don't need cash here. You can pay with Bopo!"

"For everything else, there's Bopo"

I KNOW I'm weird. Now leave me alone, one of the voices has started a debate with another one of the voices. I want to listen in.

Thanks for posting that but number 2 and 3 won't work for me (I've tried 2 and it says I need to be in the U.S, and 3 already states you need to be in the U.S) I already added a prepaid credit card to my paypal account, thats why I can make instant bank transfers :D. But I still don't get a confirmed address. :-/
