Yes, you are right. No sympathy for ignorance. Allow me to retract that previous statement and replace it with:

OP; Wait until your balls drop and you get a little hair on them until you start playing with lasers. Simple as that. Do you research now, but don't jump in until you're mature enough not to be a complete jackass, which judging by your post; is going to be around 5 years from now.

i have a feeling he is going to stop responding and stop coming to this forum all together. Mostly because we weren't stupid enough to sell him a powerful laser so he can not only blind himself but others.

wanting to blind yourself is one thing, but forcing your stupidity and poor judgement on people(and the family pets) around you is selfish..it just seems like you have no genuine interest in this hobby, your only interested in being a clown and showing off..

I kind of feel bad saying this, but people like the OP are the ones who give us a bad name here.

Don't feel bad for saying that. That's the truth. Honestly though, I have done the same things when I've joined new forums. Even as an avid message-boarder(?) since 2000, I'll still occasionally skip the very first rule of EVERY forum: search. I don't know if it's impatience of just being lazy. Jeez..I'm trying to think of all the different forums I've actively posted & participated in..it must be around 40 or 50 since 2000. Now I only frequent a few. ..

Wait...

What the hell am I even rambling on about?

I don't feel bad saying this at all...

People like the OP are the ones who refuse to learn, and give people EVERYWHERE a bad name.

Yeah, you're right. I just kind of hate the "I know what I'm talking about" attitude of people new to hobbies when they really are ASSUMING they know what they're talking about.

You know it's funny, I had a very very similar conversation days ago about the sales people at ski barn. Basically they staffed it with a lot of high school kids, and told them to act like they know everything. Very annoying.

Nothing worse then a delusional fool who thinks he's an expert, doesn't matter what you're dealing with.

I feel like those kinds of people try to live by Mark Twain's idea "All you need is ignorance and confidence and success is sure"

Lol, nice quote. +1 for that.

In the case of the ski barn bunnies, it didn't hurt that they basically picked the prettiest girls they could. I would have taken a bit of actual knowledge over the window dressing though.

I know what you mean. In again another comparison, it's like lasers. Some people make less professional looking hosts but you know what you're getting is quality on the inside. Whereas sure, WickedLasers has nice looking lasers, but it's just aesthetics! Quality over Aesthetics in my book!
