Hello all
After many months of inactivity on this website I have finally found a good reason to come back...
I have been selling laser pointers in South Africa for just under a year now and am dealing at the moment with CNI.
I really need a laser power meter that I can plug in to the computer and draw up a graph of the lasers power.
I know Kenom was making them a while back and the one that Dr LAva did a GB for, but I don't think they are doing those anymore.
Does anyone know where I can get a data loggin one for under $400?
I know the Kenometer and the Dr Lava one went for around $200, so anything in that area would be nice. If you wanna sell yours that you don't need/ want anymore, please let me know.

It is quite important that I get one as to check the powers of the lasers I am bringing in right now.

Thanks very much all
Jonno ::)

Welcome back bud. I'm sure on your budget of $400 or less you will find something very nice. I just picked up a scientech on ebay for around $200

Hi Senkat.
I guess it's going better with you than last time I was around.
So what should I do?
I checked on eBay and didn't find any that were under $1000 with a sensor head as well.
I know knew ones from Gentec and Coherent go for over a grand which is teeny bit too expensive...

ANy of you 2 got one spare lying around? :)

Thanks

If time is more important than price, you should be searching the used equipment dealers and forums. These units are out here and available, you are just going to be paying $500 for one. That is still a deal compared to new though.

Decide what you want/need first (brand, models, range, etc.) Then just use Google to find them. You may have to get the meter from one dealer and the calorimeter from another. Then you just have to calibrate them to each other.

Peace,
dave

Thanks.
I don't really want to spend that amount of money...
SO if I wait a bit, what would I be waiting for?
Thanks

Hey Comidt, and the rest looking for a Laser Power Meter, with the given budget you can easily get a new one directly from the manufacture with a Full 1 Year Warranty.  I contacted Tony from Andover Holography today on your behalf, and Yes he is still selling these.

Here's his current price list he just sent me an hour ago "Price is $199 for the meter, $40 for the calibrated attenuator/filter, $40 for the PC serial cable".

I bought my unit directly from Tony, he is a great guy to deal with. Contact him to purchase from, via email is the quickest way; Tony Brock-Fisher ( barockteer@aol.com )

Here's a thread directly from Tony himself: http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/showthread.php?t=160728

Good luck guys, you'll love the meter.

They ARE great meters, but I do prefer the accuracy of a thermal unit over any photo-diode/photo-cell/etc based type....

I concur. I will NEVER use a photo based laser power meter. Just a personal preferrence.

That was very kind of you to contact him for me.
This is the one I was thinking of getting, but now Kenom and Senkat seem to say that they're not as good as others? Maybe I'm just misunderstanding you...
Why would you not use one of these? Are they not accurate or...?

I will send him an e-mail, but if anyone knows anymore about another one, let me know ;)

Thanks
