Great to hear that they've arrived!

It will probably be quite some time before i get them here, but its always nice to know something is on its way.

It's nice to know there's more, cause I'm gonna need them! I want to make a little labby style unit and a few flashlight mods, building these things are addictive! And for the current diodes coming I have an MXDL waiting to be modded and a Daedal circuit waiting to be hooked up to a diode (Well kinda, my soldering gun is busted!)

I can take pictures of the three remaining full trays if you like ? The rest are posted at the post office - damned auto-bot thingie put Tuesdays' date on them - I guess it KNOWS they are closed on Monday, too :( Eh - shoulda had a pic taken of my lap piled high with envelopes - and my daughter rolling my chair into teh post office :p LOL !! QUITE the site to see !

Looking at the datasheet for these, I see the operating voltage is 2.5V. So probably no hooking them directly to 2 AA batteries without at least a series resistor then, I'd assume.

I thought they run on 3 V? hmmm......Anyhow a proper circuit is a must! Do not hook them directly up to 2 AA batteries.

I want to thank SenKat inhalf of us all for the GB Sony LDs

I asure you that diodes for $18 are near impossible to buy.

I have been trying for a month to by LDs, I'm waving $15K buys to the suppliers and only get treated with onesy and twosy quotes exceding unit prices $200 each!
They don't want to talk quanity, it doesn't make since! Seems that they don't want to sell 100's.

Should I call China and speak Chinese?

I got these quotes for example:
$250 for a 808nM .5W. A Laser Pointer with that diode cost less!
$1500 for a 5mW Blueray diode. A Blueray Laserhead cost $50.

Believe me, SenKat has amazed me with this GB LD procurement!
