Hi I have a green laser pointer, do not know of its real power, the label says <1000mW but I doubt its anywhere close. I have no clue of its value since I do not know power. I have not purchased a LPM yet. So here are some pictures if someone can tell and make an offer, I am looking to build a 445mW in a c6 host, so I can trade for parts of anyone is interested. I cannot upload pictures but here are links to them:

Sorry for the bad quality I took the firs two in the dark, and my camera is not very good.

You REALLY need to get it measured with an LPM
There is NO WAY to estimate the output based on how it looks in pictures or in person
How much the output is will GREATLY affect the value

alright thanks, I will be purchasing one soon to get them tested, once I find a decent one, some of them are out of my budget right now. Sooner or later I will, but I posted this ad, incase someone nearby has one and is interested in this laser. So would you recommend me to remove this post?

No. It's good info for people to have available. We often get people asking how to tell the output by some other method. It is good for this to be said from time to time

I know that both Ontario and Quebec are REALLY BIG, but Lasersbee is in Quebec
If you and he are not too far from the borders, you might be able to get together to test it
Or maybe you can mail it to him to test for you
There are other Canadian members as well, but I don't know if anyone is close to you

Peace,
dave

I am actually 4hrs away from the ontario-quebec border, but within the next month I will get a LPM most likely and then I can for sure post the actual values, since currently all I can do with this is light fireworks when properly focused

I am not sure, depends on what I can afford, bit its either between the laserbee a or arglpm (thats what i think its called) hoping for something in the range of less than $150, so then I can get data for all the so called "1000mW" lasers I have.

I am in Toronto and have a Laserbee II which Jerry just recalibrated. I would be happy to measure them for you. No cost. Just the return postage.

Yup, they are called the ARGLPM, for lack of a better name ;)

note -- need sound file

It really is that bad, huh? :undecided:

It's ARG as in the first part of argon and L. P. M.

I kept with the traditional format for LPM names :p
The BlueFan Basic
The Laserbee
The Kenometers
The ARGLPM's

MarioMaster was the only one with a creative name.

Glad you like it!

I like ARGMeter much better
( Not to be confused with an E-Meter :tinfoil: )

Peace,

 No way.

It does make me think back to when I worked in NYC, the crackpots had tables set up in the union square station with them, and I was sorely tempted to try it out, to see if I could screw around with their readings. Was always rushing to meetings back then though.
