Up for sale is a WL Evo Yellow limited edition laser. This laser was sold as a >5mW 589nm, but shockingly WL's claims were not true. :D It actually contains a CNI <2mW 593.5nm laser module.

This laser mode hops a bit, but when it's not mode hopping it outputs near 2mW. This laser costs $400 new, I want $175 shipped to the US for it. I'll ship internationally but you have to pay actual postage.

Here's a video I made with this laser, please note that the wavelength is actually 593.5nm, not 589nm.

I know this is a total pain in the ass, but any chance you can get some diverged photos of the spot and maybe beam while it is mode hopped? You never stated which modes it hops to, and some I'll tolerate and others I won't. I realise you're selling this at a major loss, but I'm sure you understand the hesitation for a buyer to spend nearly $200 on a likely 1mW laser which is unstable and potentially in a mode with horrible beamspecs.

At this point I could only make an offer, which would be measurably less than your asking price, and I do not wish to insult you with it. If the modality is acceptable I could potentially come up in price.

It hops to TEM01, it actually stays pretty well collimated in TEM01 but the output drops considerable when that happens. I can get you pictures if you're interested at all.

The lowest I'll sell this for is $160 shipped, and I have a feeling I might not get any bites at that price. If I can't sell it I'll probably do something funny with it on YouTube.

Would that be Cyllindrical Transverse Electric Modes or Rectangular? TEM01 Cyllindrical would be acceptable (as would TEM10 and TEM20, but only Rectangular TEM00 and TEM22 would be useable.

I understand about the pricing, it's quite a loss (less than half what you spent!) and I certainly don't disagree with you holding fast there. Real shame it isnt TEM00 and >2mW is all, feel bad WL hosed ya.

My first 593.5 :D

I suspect it won't be your last. :D

You will love the color. Even at this low power it's a very nice wavelength. If I didn't already have two, I'd have tried to grab this one.
