No, you need an aixiz module to hold the diode and the lens.

We just call the whole heatsink thing a 'module' because it does much more than take away heat :)

Ah, touche.
I know Ive been thinking about lasers too much when the word module is announced the first word that comes to my head is Aixiz...

When I am ready to ship, I have some DX-modules that I could provide for these for an additional $5. Also the "Sure-modules" are a little larger and will likley not fit into this heat-sink, just an FYI.

Got your name down rkcstr ;)

Also put down the names of people who messaged me about them showing interest. If they confirm they still want a case, they can have them :)

If those two confirm their interest, that'll leave only 2 cases left! Boy, that was quick! Get your interest in fast!

Also, I'm still probably going to make a specialized driver, though it looks like DH make it to easily accustom the lavadrive.

DH, you mentioned looking for a decent switch, I may be able to help.  First, do the cases come with a button?  If so, if you could give me a rough depth to into the case it sits, the height above the case that it protrudes and the depth to the bottom of the heatsink cavity, I can probably find something that would meet up with the button well.

A button does come with the host, it is just an aluminum-knob that is powder-coated like the rest of the host. It would attach to the switch like a regular "pen-type laser host", with just some rubber-cement, or whatever that sticky-stuff is when you pry the little buttons off to slide the modules out. I can counter-bore out the little pocket that holds the switch to any depth we would need to accommodate a given switch-height. The switches I bought from RS are surface-mount Tact-switches, no leads. The one I am using in the pictures is from a DVD-drives, it is a little taller and has leads. Any ideas for a clean solution here would be great.

I'm possibly interested, though i can't confirm yet. I have a couple questions: is there enough room in the heatsink module for the silicone diode the flexdrive needs to be able to take 6 volts? Is the hole in the aperature cap big enough for the blu-ray beam?

There should be plenty of room for a silicone diode within the module. I believe the aperture should be large enough, I will measure it tonight.

Would a 17670 LI battery fit in these if I wanted to use the Lavadrive? (I would think so, just making sure)

Hmm, I dont think so.

However from what ive seen on DX, 2xrc123=1x18650 in lenght and width. Don't quote me on this I haven't checked specs myself, but I think it is the case.

This would be ideal for all the members who will be using a step-up driver, as the voltage will be in the ideal range and the capacity will be in the 2400mah range. I really hope that this is the case, in fact I am almost positive. But again, I have to take some time when I get home to check out the specs (I am a bit lazy atm :)).

Great! Only 2 remaining now.

I'm sure there can be future group buys and Dark_Horse will make more heatsinks, but they won't be this cheap, and you'll have to wait :)

Sadly, a 18650 battery is larger in diameter by a little-bit and will not fit into these barrels, (not even close), only the CR123's, I am not familiar with the 17670.

According to Wikipedia, a CR123 (or RCR123, CR123A, etc) has a 17mm diameter and is 34mm in length. 34 times two is 68, which about the length of the 17670 (which has 67 mm to the length, and a 17mm diameter).
Lol, I'm not sure why i even asked now.
