For Sale - SH-032 1.65-1.7W 18650 Hand Held W/ Battery - Just finished this unit from Jayrob, used standard 1/2 threaded 445nm AR lens. Unit puts out 1.83mW before lens, with lens 1.6-1.7 as shown in photos (LPM is Ophir head calibrated and custom Display) Laser requires GOOD 18650 battery for operation, 10-15 sec on, 1 min off. Unit has Flex drive V5 thermally epoxied inside pill for maximum thermal protection. If you add a Jayrob Lens, your output will be higher. E-mail or PM me if interested.

For what it's worth - just a heads-up that there were issues with this seller previously, selling this same model, with similar claimed specs. They were described as 1.6-1.7W, then subjectively estimated at much less (1.3W), and then finally tested (two buyers down the line) at 865mW.

Long story short:
- Petacat bought one from RDTech, which was advertised as "1.6 to 1.7W".
- Then Petacat went to sell it, and came to the conclusion that it wasn't really 1.6 or 1.7W, but was actually more like 1.3W.
- So Petacat re-sold the laser as a "1.3W" build:

880mW Silver 18650 CREE R2 SH032 445nm - $160 -
I bought the Laser from RDTech
he said it had an out put of 1.6-1.7W
but I think it must be more like 1.3W!

- Then saki302 bought it from Petacat.
- But when he measured it, it wasn't even 1.3W, it was actually 865mW.
- Petacat had to refund saki302.

Yep- PEAKS at around 865mW on my Radiant Alpha- stabilizes around only 798-810 :p
My Yobresal lays waste to this one, sadly.

If it was 1.3+, I was planning to stick a 405 G2 on there and bring it to 1.5+ :(

- I don't know what happened to that laser in the end. I don't think it is literally the same physical laser that is for sale here (I hope)
- But it was the same model of build, from the same original seller (RDTech) with the same claimed high output.

I'm not saying "don't buy this". I'm just encouraging everyone to be conscious of the history here. T'is all.

I have an Ophir Power meter and more than one person who has been very satisfied with my builds. I was using a different LPM before, one of the first Laserbee's.

I sell many of my other labby's on ebay and my site and my feedback speaks for itself.

I understand. I'm fairly sure you have not personally seen or used any of my lasers. There are always bad diodes. I have dealt with hundreds of 445nm diodes thus far and it really depends on how it was extracted, how it was shipped, what es conditions while being installed (I.e. press fitting into an Aixiz top with a snap) ALl these including "latent esd damage" can add to a laser diodes ultimate failure and or degredation. When and If I get labby's back, any problems are usually from the diode. There are people who I have purchased them from who do not take the proper care in extraction from projector.

Not only one issue, also got one of these claimed 1.7W lasers with in fact 830mW output tested on my Nospin Laserpowermeter with an Ophir head.

And if so, the other buyers would have complained, as well as the MANY eBay buyers of my other lasers. If it was faulty, you should have sent it back and I would have fixed it. I do not sell junk. Not real happy with a few whom I do not know, tearing a build apart without checking facts first.

I will and always have stood behind what I make.

I tried to find you on our eBay FeedBack pages but could not. I guess
you didn't leave any feedback.
I assume you purchased one of the first LaserBee Is. I would need
your LaserBee's Serial Number to be sure.

Are you saying that you attribute the aforementioned Laser's 865mW
low reading to your LaserBee being uncalibrated...:thinking:
I will also need to know what is written on the 2nd Splash Screen of
your LaserBee I to see if it is still calibrated.

We have never received any PMs or E-Mails pertaining to your issues
with your LaserBee.

If indeed your LaserBee is a LaserBee I.. then there is another problem..
How did you accurately measure 1.6W - 1.7W with a LPM that was
designed to read a
Max of 1050mW.... :thinking:

It's funny that 865mW X 2 = 1730mW... but that could just be coincidence.

(LPM is Ophir head calibrated and custom Display)
What did you Calibrate your OPHIR head to....:thinking:
There have been recent findings that some OPHIR heads are not
calibrated correctly or have been possibly played with and unadjusted.
It is no longer a given that ALL these surplus OPHIR heads are correctly
calibrated.

It has also been noted that the OPHIR heads are Active Area position
sensitive as shown by a test we did almost 2 years ago... (see Pic)
In your Photo #4 in the 1st Post I can see that your reading of 1700mW
is no doubt not that accurate (even if your OPHIR head had been calibrated
against a known accurate LPM) since your Laser's beam is not centered
on the Active Area of the Radial Thermopile Sensor....
For the most accurate readings the Laser's beam MUST be at the exact
center of the OPHIR Head's sensor.

I personally have not purchased a Laser from you so I can't really
comment on the outputs of your Lasers but I do know the product

OK, that was over 3 years ago, I sold it 1 year ago. It was your first. I HAD NO PROBLEMS, personally with your meter. Period. I wasn't speaking of my LPM anyway. I had a lab in Melbourne, FL calibrate the head for me along with 2 expensive fluke DMM's, a 287 & an 87-V Sorry, did not mean to implicate you.

Here is my take, aside from the general consensus of the forum that there are questions about the power rating...

You have this down as a 10-15 second on, 60 seconds off cycle. That is short IMHO. I'm conservative and I rarely run a laser over 30-45 seconds, but 10-15 seconds makes me wonder about the heat sinking of this design. I have a survival ~1.25W and I added the copper heat sink just for margin of error.

I would want a ~1.75W laser to be heat sinked in a way that I could go 30-45 seconds minimum.

Honestly, you probably need to do some sort of YouTube video of a new test to convince most of the members here that it is what you claim.

$160 for 1.75 watts is a great price if it is a good laser...

I paid over $200 for my 1.25 from survival lasers and think it was a good deal, but that is because I trust that it is a quality laser too.

Well that covers the Serial Number and Calibration Factor
questions.

But you haven't responded to how you measured the
aforementioned low power 1.6W - 1.7W Laser with your
referred to 1 Watt Max LaserBee I from three years ago...:thinking:

The reason I'm asking is because you implied that the 865mW
low reading of your Laser was due to the inaccuracy of your
LaserBee and I'd just like to clear up if that was the cause of
the low power output of your said Laser.

Here is what you said when asked about the low 865mW output
of your said Laser...
