Thanks! You're a good friend

Well, I mean it's a 445 - I can't really say that I've ever found 445s to look any different from each other. There's nothing special about this guy in that respect - it's just a typical 445. I will say that the camera shots look more "violet" than in real life. The beam is actually a lot more "blue" than my camera sees it. And of course like most beam shots, there was some glycerine in the air to make the beam really pop (but it's a visible beam even without it).

Why thank you:na:

Seriously though, if it wasn't for timing, I would take this laser in a second:eek: Just ask Angelos, I love small lasers:)

Hows the duty cycle on high for this little monster, ~30 seconds?

Between 30 and 40 seconds. However, one of the cool benefits of this 5 mode driver, is that on lower power modes, you have an unlimited duty cycle. I say that, with full appreciation for the implication of such a comment. You can truly run this on low until the battery is dead. It makes sense if you realize that low power mode is actual a pulsed output that delivers a very tiny amount of output power. It's neat to have the option though.

Oh, and at the end of the 30 or 40 seconds, the driver automatically switches into low power mode to reduce heat. Neat feature.

where did you get this host? :)

Although not an easy task, with the right keywords and a little searching you can find the host. I ran across it awhile back (and even posted a link to it) but out of respect for RHD I'm not going to repost the link. :)

I bought Lazeerer's polished mini 445nm and absolutely love it... 350mW+ of power, with duty cycle of 45 seconds or so.

At one point I wanted more power... now I want more power in a smaller package:p

The heat shut off to low mode on this build is VERY attractive IMO....

Ask DTR, lazeerer or rhd for building you a 445nm one, adding the heat shut off shouldn´t be a problem.

Believe me, these CR2 keychains are VERY WELL heatsinked for their size. With a G1 you get >700mW easily.
