Geez, at that run time, the laser should be HOT. I would jump on this deal if I didn't already have a replacement coming.

IR should be about ~15% of that. Even so, it's still good, and installing an IR filter in this laser is extremely easy. - Keep in mind I'm a klutz, and I'm still making that statement.

I've had one perfectly aligned green, others not so much.
But custom builds alignment isn't a big problem.

Nope. You focus it just by turning the top part, no tools needed.

Why pay 250$ for a second hand product which costs 214$ new?

A second hand product should be cheaper than a new product.

It can come from O-like in less than a month, depends on what country you are from.

And even if you have to wait a month, it's not so bad.

Most probably the buyer will get an overspec laser from O-like, and if not he can return it to Susie for a free replacement.

Paying 250$ for this second hand laser just doesn't make any sense to me.

Really? Paying a premium for convenience and guaranteed power out of the box doesn't make sense to you? Most people pay more for things all the time for convenience alone. You don't have to wait 30+ days for shipping, plus you know what you are getting and don't have to deal with the return and wait again if it's under spec.

I see no problem with that and I don't think most people here would either.

Lol, there's so much wrong with what you just said

1) I'm pretty sure you can't buy these new since o-like is perpetually out of stock.

2) You CAN'T ask Susie to replace a laser because it "isn't overspec"

3) You should sell a laser based on it's LPM power as opposed to its "spec power" whenever you know the former. If you take a risk on a laser that shows up more powerful, you're just as entitled to that bonus as someone who ends up with an under spec laser is burdened by the shortcoming.

I was gonna disagree with you, but rhd covered the highlights already.

This laser is - as you know - notoriously all over the place as far as quality is concerned. Some are phenomenal, some are are crap. Most fall somewhere in between.

I do believe believe that o-like tests at least some lasers out of the batch, and they probably click on the laser before shipping to see that it works. However based on 4 experiences so far I know they don't LPM every laser before they send it out.

With shipping to US this laser is $214+$8. With express which will take ~two weeks it's $214+$8+$14 = $236.

The laser here is in like new condition... I'd sure Ben took very good care of it, so for the sake of argument let's say it's new.

To be honest, I would love to be able to pay a premium of $14 (or $28 without express shipping) to have

1. A laser that is guaranteed overspec, and working the way it's supposed to.
2. Guaranteed to have no customs issues.

I also note that as of this moment the laser is no longer on o-like website.

Also regarding just sending it back, there are two important factor to consider.. you will not be getting your money back for shipping. Minimum of $43. It's not that big a deal, but still it's an issue. If you opt for exchange, the process will also take a very LONG time.

Anyway, bottom line, if I didn't have a replacement coming I'd jump on this deal. It is extremely reasonable in terms of price.

@bhwollen - I'm gonna wish you bad luck with the sale since I know you don't really want to part with it

Thanks for the support guys. I really don't want to sell it but my dad is making me. I owe him money and he wasn't impressed when this thing turned up. So if I sells, good for him, I'll just buy another one when they are back. If it doesn't he will just have to wait a little longer for the money.

About to run IR test. Give me a minute.

Edit: just tested it and it peaks just below 400mW with IR filter.
