Up for sales are "long open can” Diodes Red and windowless IR Diodes harvested from LG 18-20x DVD burners and 48-52x CD/RW burners. The leads on the Red Diodes were soldered to make it easier to work with; as you can see I cleaned off the epoxy off the Diodes casing too.

Price:

$24 L open can
$4  IR each (with purchase of L open can only)
$2.5     Postage and GC/Paypal fees per order in the US, $12 international

Well, there are short and long open cans, the short open cans have a shorter chip, I bought one from TheMonk a few weeks ago:

And the long open cans have a long chip, you can see the difference above.
So far everyone has been using long open cans so nobody knows a lot about the short open can. Now that I have a long one, I'll pm Dr. Lava and see if I can send him my short open can for testing.

Wow you've been busy :p I'll take the last remaining open can and IR.

BTW how long does it take you to harvest and solder each one.
