Hey guys,
I just ordered a RGB projector because I couldn't stand that cash burning a hole in my pocket!

I just wanted to see if anyone was interested in my old unit as I don't really have space to store all these projectors.

It's a Casa CTL-CM DMX512 150mw R/G/Y projector (50mw Green, 100mw Red)

It has sound response, auto, maser/slave and DMX modes and has 52 static and 52 animated pre-programmed patterns and has a quite vibrant yellow in the beam show.

Knob for setting sound sensitivity and also features auto laser off when music is turned off in music mode.

Fan cooled system for longer life, 4 hour max recommended running time.

It has 9 DMX channels where you can set patterns, modes, animation speed, color, scan speed and X,Y position and segment colors.

Uses micro stepper motor based mirror system (true scanning system not through diffuser like many of those mini systems) I can't find specs on it but I am guessing probably 10-15kpps based on similar units and spec data.. It scans pretty quick on smaller images but the larger patterns get a little flickery but nothing awful.

Full black metal casing with lighting rack mount and sound response mode works quite well looks awesome in fog...

It will generate a huge show (Ran it outside terminated on some trees in my back yard and projected about 30 foot tall images 100 feet away)
It is extremely bright inside and quite bright outside when dark.

Also can cover most large rooms with a dynamic moving multicolor light show and incredible beam show with a fog machine...

It's a great first show laser and super budget friendly.

The unit only has about 5 hours on it and the sale is only pending me getting another unit because I really love this unit. It was bought new by me and is only a few months old, works great and is still under warranty for at least 10 months.

It comes with the projector, a longer power cord (the unit came with a 1 foot long cord which I replaced) and the manual.

This is the 120V version if you have different power you may need to use a converter. The manual states 120/240 however there is a 120v sticker on it.

I would like to see $80 for it plus actual shipping costs (no handling or inflation just the exact amount it costs me) but I am open to offers if anyone is interested drop me a line.

It will be shipped out of Canada, I would be willing to sell it shipped for $100 anywhere in North America and I will eat a portion of the shipping cost.

The flicker you see in the video below is at least twice what is actually is. On a live projection it's about half as flickery but not completely solid on the largest size projections. (My camera shows solid projections from a 40k scanner as flickery)

I have a CASA CTL-DCM (red, green, blue, yellow) projector system. I think its one of the better chinese builds. The stepper motors are definitely smoother than the SHINP projectors. Great for parties, you just have to watch out for the large scan angles and peoples eyes.

I am a complete noob to lasers and everything. Would I be able to program something of my own into this?

Would shipping cost less to a Canadian adress?

You can't create your own drawings, etc. with this unit however if you want that capability you need what's called ILDA support. To get into an ILDA system you are looking at minimum $450 or so (by the time you buy the projector with shipping costs, PC interface hardware and software, and cables) for the worst possible system and closer to $1500 for a decent one.

This unit has DMX support (You can get a DMX adapter for about $50 bucks) which will allow you to connect the laser to your PC and you can use a program such as Freestyler to program sequences using the built in 100 or so patterns and animations, select colors, move stuff around, etc. It's a great way to start learning about lighting setups (If you want to add any other DJ lighting gear it will use DMX) and show design and you can work your way up to ILDA if you choose..

Both DMX and ILDA require that the laser be connected to a computer (or DMX control board - Looks like a sound mixer).

The system will also work out of the box in sound detection mode which is where I have it set to most of the time anyway.

Very likely shipping would be cheaper within Canada.

Anyway I hope this answers your question, if you have any other questions I will be glad to answer them (even not specific to this system). I am still learning myself I'm only a few months into this but I have a lot of electronics and computer know-how and I have spent the whole time reading up on this stuff so I think I have a decent amount of knowledge on the subject.

I have also done a lot of research on buying equipment and this is about the best you're going to do price wise for something a little higher end than those projector type laser systems DX and the like sell... Shipping often makes what looks like a good deal a bad deal specially to Canada :p

Anyway drop me your PO code if you're still interested and I will get you the shipping cost and if your considering going higher end I can get you some links depending how much your looking to spend.

Cheers.
