HTC has been making some really sexy phones for a while. I got to play with the Droid Eris in a VZW store, it was great. However, I'm still reeling from the sudden and unfortunate failure of my $400 windows mobile phone from about a year ago :( Somebody should buy this!

I wouldn't buy a winmo phone, I love the android platform. HTC defiantly has some good looking phones though, like the HD 2. Man, that's a sweet screen.

This Magic is pretty nice too though. Android app store has plenty of apps. The Droid eris is a nice phone as well.

HTC magic is nice because its rootable but less expensive then other rootables.
Why let your provider retain control over Your phone. Your paying enough for it, its yours.
Excellent if you like to customize your phone or like to show off some leet bling. CyanoGenMod
The android platform is the best available at the moment IMO. I'd buy it but I can't part with 350 atm.
Hope it goes to a good home & they enjoy it.

Iphone ftw....
No, the iphone fails in the way this phone wins. The iphone is completely closed-source, and the only way to do any third-party software installs is jailbreaking, which is very unstable. If you want this phone, it's probably not for just the GUI. These android phones are very hackable.

Apple always has a way with design, hype & usually make a good impression but if you really want to customize or play with your hardware nobody allows that more then linux. I haven't checked how sales are doing but remember the iphone had quite a head start on android. Anyone can make an app for android, iphone you have to be approved by the all mighty creator (of the iphone). There is a ton of android phones coming for any network you want.

Yeah, why should we have to hack a device just to do what we want it to? Android basically does it all without rooting. I especially like how I can install apps from the sd card with no issues at all.

In case i didn't mention, im selling this baby because I want to get a Nexus One :)

In less then a month AT&T will break down & join the android army.
AT&T confirmed that it will launch the Motorola Backflip on Mar. 7
...
Announced at CES in early January, the Backflip will be the first Android phone to be offered on a network known for its exclusive contract with Apple's iPhone. AT&T is also the last major U.S. carrier to adopt an Android phone. An AT&T appearance was rumored shortly after the Backflip announcement.

The Backflip is equipped with a 528MHz Qualcomm processor, and offers 2GB of memory, a 3.1-inch 480 x 320 touchscreen, WiFi, Bluetooth, aGPS, and a five-megapixel camera. The phone is notable for its reverse-flip QWERTY keyboard, as well as a "Backtrack" touchpanel on the back of the device. Offering Mot's MotoBlur UI, the Backflip was introduced with Android 1.5, but was said to be upgradeable to Android 2.x.

The AT&T Backflip page may be found here. An eWEEK story on AT&T's Backflip move should be here.

:D Did you get a good price? Interested on how you like your Nexus One when you get it.
Seems pretty sweet from what I've read & I think they worked out the network issue it had.
Do you have any plans to install CyanoGenMod?
As you might have gathered I'm quite fond of rooting on my hardware.

It went for $265 CAD.

I probably wont root the nexus, but my htc dream is rooted with cyanogenmod.
