For sale, I have a unique custom mini carbon fiber laser containing a brand new PHR803T which I have harvested. Also included is a built in new driver which I have designed myself using only the best in state of the art electronics components. At the heart of the driver is a MAX711 integrated step up/down dc to dc converter with linear regulator which I have set to run in low noise mode for an ultra stable output. This IC can operate from 1.8v to 11v input with seamless step up and step down conversion. Also included is an onboard comparator used to protect the rechargeable lithium cell by cutting power when the input drops below 2.6 volts. The driver also features a pot for output adjustment in mA, from 28ma to 500ma at an actual 5.6v out. The driver does not have a limiting resistor to keep the output from exceeding what the diode can handle. So in other words if you turn the pot up too high the diode will fry. I have tested this particular laser set at 90 mA's (recommended) for less than 5 min to verify a clean and stable output. The carbon host's battery cover is attached with neodymium magnets offering a strong hold and easy access. The polished aluminum heat sink is fitted with a set screw for removal of the axiz module, and also has thermal paste injected for increased heat dissipation. The laser also features a safety switch located on the rear and a momentary push button for operation.

For $150 (plus shipping, US only) this sale includes:
1 new carbon mini host with built in Ramsey innovations blu ray driver
1 new PHR803T pressed into an axiz module and mounted to heat sink with thermal paste
1 new rechargeable Li-ion rcr123

wait so i can burn out the phr if i turn the pot a bit too much.. sounds dangerous.

will your driver handle 400ma outputting 6.5V ? im thinking an 8x diode would be a good candidate for this.

assuming that it is, how much would you sell your host /heatsink/driver combo?

Not that dangerous really, I can set the output at a safe level for you or you could measure it to set it yourself. The pot is just there so if you upgrade the diode some day to a 6x or a panasonic 8x that doesn't require high voltage, the current can be increased. And the driver can only output up to 5.6v safely from my tests so far.

Thanks, James

Great job, very innovative! I like the use of the magnets. I know the quality of the carbon fiber in that host.

cool... prices for heat sink, driver, host combo?

I would like to sell this one as a complete build, but I could build you another one without the diode, axiz module and battery for $95. Thats $35 for the driver, $10 for the polished aluminum heatsink, and $50 for the carbon fiber host with everything assembled including magnets, button, safety switch, and cr123 battery holder.

I also have one with a DDL driver (LM317T) set at 100ma (non-adjustable) in the same style host for $65. This one does not have a safety switch and is sealed unit. Simply plug and play, 9v battery plugs inside and operating switch is on top. The axiz module is threaded into the heatsink and includes a PHR pressed in.

These are extreamly rugged and can take a serious beating. The silvered carbon fiber has a micro texured finish that is very, very scratch resistant and feels comfortable in the hand.

Too Cool, very unique I like the shape it looks like it is part of a ray gun or something like. Scopeguy will be wanting to see this. say is that driver ckt built on a silk screened fiberglass board ? or what ? I would be interested in one maby, Thanks for sharing !

Peace Pyro... :eg:
