680 mA seems high for 50 mW. My Snoctony 50 puts out 53 mW @ 380 mA which seems more reasonable. 380 mA comes from the pot mod days of old when we got 40 to 50 mW and were HAPPY
Well some when up to 140mW and its a c-mount diode and it does not heat up. Its is quite high, as i am getting a 80mW green laser with a 200mW IR diode! from IgorT
Edit: some questions I had were answered pretty well by your 'exploding driver' posts in [link=www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1213471542]Dave's thread[/link].
Are you shipping from Perth? Will you ship to the US? Any (rough) idea what the shipping costs would be to the US?
Payment: Paypal? Google Checkout? Other?
How much on-time has this thing seen?
Is this module the one that the first driver was hooked to when it died, or the replacement?
You already sold one of the modules with no driver [link=www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1216665974]here[/link], and now you are selling another driverless module... what happened to the second driver? If it died too, was this module hooked to it at the time?
How have you been driving this module?
What was driving this module when you made the 680mA observation? How was that measurement made? Was that the current going in to the driver, or the current going in to the diode?
Well 5 dollars will cover shipping, i live in Perth UK so i would ship to the US. Its had about 5 hours on. This is the first module of the two and i sold the second driver to scopeguy20. I used a 317 driver which i am now using for a blu-ray diode. The mA measurement was done by disma and i used a multimeter and a dummy load from IgorT to measure the 317 driver so i did not over power the diode. A good question you missed was which one i opened up which was the second one and not this one. PayPal is fine
