Hi everyone,

I just received a small pack of 10 of these 445nm 50mw Blue Laser Diodes.

These diodes sell as samples for over $3k apiece.

I am available in the Southern California area for meet up, and will be in the bay area this weekend.

Serious inquiries only please!

Thanks,

Gary

I hope eventually you can get these cheaper - while they are definitely an awesome wavelength to have, $500 is out of the range of most people's budgets (especially for the power output)

Good luck with your sale

It's cheaper than a 50mW blue DPSS pen ...

Hey kingstonmeo,

Can you confirm that either the 50mW rating you give your diodes or the 500mW rating given in the first post of the link below is correct?

:)

Those are 2 different diodes.

The 500mw are harvested from a laser projector and the 50mw are new from NICHA.

* I think.

If I had....$800-$900...I'd buy one of these :p (gotta have money for a 12X kit, then a a kit for this  )

That's just it KGB. * I think too maybe.

Seemed odd that the greatest difference in the two descriptions is the ten fold output reduction to 50mW and wondered if this was a simple typo. Selling price is similar, etc. Thought my post may be a prompt to correct one or the other. Still confused though...

Is it just me, or has there been a lot of talk, and selling of 445nm diodes lately? There's been atleast 3-4 threads started just this week about them. Kinda odd don't ya think?

3-4 Threads this week? I've only seen this one, kingstonmeos' old one from about two weeks ago, and the older one concerning the ones from eBay, and it's not that odd, considering laser pico projectors are more and more common, and as kingstonmeo said, he got these from a business that went belly-up in Japan, that probably made projectors or something else that required 445nm diodes.

Odd!?
A new WL is coming up and people talk about it! That´s anything but strange

I meant odd because just recently there's been a lot of talk about it. That's all, and what do you mean about a new WL is coming up???

The 500mW diodes that a few people bought have a pretty awful beam. That's the catch.

How's the beam on these?

Mentioned in his previous thread, I believe these are multimode as well. :undecided:

50mW should be single transverse mode. There is no reason to need multiple emission regions to produce power levels that low. The only reason for multimode diodes is for the added power they provide.

Of course, but I'm probably misquoting that, I've gotten very little sleep this week, maybe fifteen hours total. I'll check the other thread just to be sure though.

The OP says that they are Nichia NDB7242E, I could not find a spec sheet but I believe they are multimode.

Although this one seems close to what is described.
