Dave,

Build another 6X BR in the Dorcy host and I will snag it!
The frilly flowerly host does not mean squat to me, I just want POWER!

Well, how about a nice Kryton Smooth then.  This one is natural aluminum.  This one is putting out 210mW.  It has a flexdrive being powered by two CR123 primary batteries.  The clicky cover is GITD.  You can have it for $250, shipped in the US.

Dave,

Hows about a nice plain Dorcy or MXDL host?
Times are tough and money is tight, those hosts are a little fancy for my tastes.  ;)

I've got some Dorcy's coming (should be) Tuesday. I have winter session classes going right now so it might be Thursday afternoon before I could build it. I can ship no later than Friday. $225, shipped in the US.

Fair enough Dave.  ;)

Can you build me a pair of Dorcy's like you listed in your original post but being able to use RCR123's for $300?

Thanks in advance,

Ray

Yes.  That was actually my original intention with the Dorcys on the way.  UPS tracking says they should be here Tuesday.  I have everything else on hand.

Actually, the only thing you need to do with this build to use the RCR123A type battery is simply switch out the primary batteries for the rechargeable batteries.  The flexdrive will take either.  I only have primaries here and with sending primaries, the customer doesn't have to worry about getting a charger before they can use the lasers.  If you have or are getting rechargeable batteries, just swap them.

I'll send you a PM with my PayPal address.

Peace,
dave

I cant believe that kryton hasn't sold yet!!    :-? :-?

Well. it's quite a bit of money for many people.  Unfortunately, I can't lower the price.  People who haven't been around very long, just see price, not value or rarity.  The components of this one are much more expensive than the simple Dorcy.  For example, the Kryton Groove with the custom "fade" anodizing cost more than $75 all by itself.  That is just for the host.  The total cost and expenses for this unit (parts, PayPal fees, & shipping/ins.) comes to just under $200.

I hate to see it go to a "stranger", but such is life.  I may just have one of my friends in the UK list it in eBay.

Peace,
dave
