Price drop to 10 shipped,
price also includes the business end of an aixiz module
Also already has short wires attached

Will be shipped in an envlope via first class,
Delivery conformation avalible if you want to pay for it

Current at 400mA; w/ a 3 element

Re: FS: 40mW 445 build

At 400mA it should do at least 150mW. The diode is basically a zombie. Not LED and also not fully working, somewhere in between.
Maybe it is better to buy a another 445nm diode and sell the laser for $100.

Re: FS: 40mW 445 build

So basically its just a JAD kit atm..

More or less, yes. You're paying around $20-25 for the zombied diode too.

Re: FS: 40mW 445 build

I would say to sell it As C6 Host only. 40mW is nothing.
This diode does not cost more than 10$.

Re: FS: 100mW Zombie H1600 445 diode 15$ shipped

I'm not really sure you'll have much luck selling a zombie diode. I say that only because a few people have tried in the past, and I'm not really sure any have actually sold.

There is always discussion of price, but it doesn't even seem like the diodes sell well when hugely discounted.

It's actually kind of a shame, because even 100mW of laser light from a 445 is pretty awesome. To put that in perspective, 100mW of blue laser light (of any sort) in a portable would have cost $500 or more just 2 years ago.

I've often thought that a neat project for a new members with some time on their hands, would be to collect the zombies from various forum members. Then put together a $0.50 cent driver (with an LM11117, a resistor, and a couple caps on a simple pcb). Then create little ~100mW "zombie modules".

You'd be looking at:
- Driver $0.50 (seriously)
- Wire $0.25
- Aixiz Module $2.50
- Lens $0 (the stock acryllic is fine)
- Zombie Diode (depends on sourec)

So for basically $3.50 plus the price of the zombie diodes (probably would vary depending on source and shipping) you could put together little "zombie modules". Basically, low output ~100mW blue 445 setups.

They wouldn't appeal to everyone. But man, I'm sure they would sell for $30. I think there are a lot of new entrants into the hobby that would love a 100mW blue laser for $30. And even if someone had to pay an average of $5 or $10 to collect zombies from members on the forum, that would be a nice return for their time. $15 in parts, $30 selling price.

I think that ^ would be a neat project for the right person.

I'd take it, but $15 is too much IMO. If you drop the price, PM me.

The only thing that worries me about that is zombies seem to have varying life left after their zombification.... you never know how long one has until it really does die. That, and yes while they're low output you also have ridiculously low efficiencies. 750 mA input for only 100 mW out seems a tad ridiculous.

That really isn't a bad idea though. I know of at least one person that wants a cheap (~$20.00) very low output 445 pointer.

Low enough power to actually be fairly safe to use with presentations and cheap enough that they won't be too upset if it doesn't last forever.

Re: FS: 100mW Zombie H1600 445 diode 15$ shipped

Quack: 750mA x 4.75V = ~3.5W of input for 100mW output.

You say ridiculous, I say "relative"

200mA x 8.5V = 1.7W of input for 45mW of output is what my direct green does. Yet I wouldn't have turned it down for lack of efficiency's sake. I'm sure that someone without a blue laser, and with limited cash, would love a, cheap zombie diode.

The VF is actually just under 4V, even better :)

Once you zombie a diode every time you turn it on it degrades more and more and more...
