The aurora of laser light that splashes inside laser modules and focus rings is wasted light, so I had the idea to make a focus ring and module that will harvest some of this light and re-emit it in a cool way.

If there is enough interest I will make a batch of Glow Focus Rings and/or Bottom Glow Modules; and sell them for $X + Shipping. I will also would consider doing custom work on existing rings and modules.

Thanks,
Kyle

I have the Glow Focus Ring and Bottom Glow Module installed on my 405nm mini, I'd really only recommend these on blue/purple diodes.

The inside of the lens can actually be seen, mine was a bit dusty at the time.

After the laser is shut off it will still project light for a short time.

Looks awesome! Would definitely be interested! Wouldn't the glow ring that goes around the diode have a chance of melting though?

The materials I'm using are rated to withstand really high temperature and I ran that 405nm about as hot an I could get it and everything stayed good :yh:

I would order the lenses and modules and I'd try to get some copper modules and different focus rings. I'm hesitant to throw out a cost now since I haven't ordered lenses or modules yet, but I would charge the cost of materials plus maybe a dollar or two for labor. I'm not looking to break the bank on this one :yh:

Oh I thought that you were going to be selling the rings that we can put in

I have to mix it, apply it, and make sure that it cures evenly. So it's a permanent addition to the ring and module, but IMO much better than an installable ring.
