well mine didnt last long but it was neat when i had it. I really don't know what happened. I had it in a host and it was working good with 2 cr123a cells. It was not as bright as the 9v that I used to test it when it arrived. I replaced the batteries with fresh ones and the thing went super bright. Im talking crazy bright. So I was think this is crazy cool. I grabbed my camera to snap a pic as you could see the beam with no smoke outside just like a green. after less then 1min of use it died. :( I unscrewed the module and the top of the pot fell off. I dont know if that was the problem or not but im guessing it was. here is the picture of the laser when it was rocking at the end lol.

well they are set to 110mW and it should last awhile. What im not understanding is how many of them have no probs and 2-3 goes dead after shortly recieving them.

People that have paid i've ipdated the list.

From now on, Before i send out each module, I will record a short video of me testing power output. Showing that it works fine. And that theres no probs with them before i send them out.

thats just the way it works sometimes. Im not saying that your making bad modules or anything. Mine went just like i said. super bright then dead. Most likely a fluke. I plan to buy from you again someday. no worries.

I sent a PM, but I thought i'd post here as well. I'm interested in a PHR diode in Aixiz module without a driver. PM and let me know what you can do.

Co35n i know what you mean, im like that too. i sent a parcel via Express Platinum 1 time and its guarenteed next day. It took them 5 days to get there, and thats in australia. But they refunded me another satchet.

I've gotten alot of pm about people trying to open and turning them into laser built, some open them for the sake of curiosity, and some just try to connect it to a 12V car battery. Like i say in the 1st thread, I wont ship out any modules till i record images of them showing power output and that they are working. Also i highly recommend people buying insurance. When i send them by post office, the lady takes the parcel, scans it, stamps it then just throws it half way across the room into a barsket. dont know what else its been through. so consider the insurance option. thanks

Joeyjojo pm sent

Finally received it !!!

BUT..

3 times 5 sec cycles ( 5 sec on 5 sec off ) and it died. ( brand new 9v duracell ultra )
time to do some inspecting ... after a good smoke..

Edit:  ( after 2 or 3 smokes, a 30min power failure and chasing 2 little wild kitties around the house )
driver seems to be ok, so the diode is dead. It was bright tho as 'long' it lasted.
didnt even get to adjust the focus .., sad but true.

Inside the housing ( the lens side ) there was some metal scrap, seemed to  be copper ... weird.

Edit 2:
Something weird with the driver. When i leave it on for about 10 sec, the LM1117 IC gets really really hot.

EDIT 3
Okay, seems that when BR diode dies its shortcircuited ( at least this is ). Thats why the IC gets hot.

I am in the UK and it only took just over a week to reach me thanks BluRay....I was really happy with it and it worked great ..... UNTIL I decided to be one of those stupid curious people who opened the module and broke the driver off and then I attemped to resolder it on and toasted the diode......I am such a dumb ass! :-[

my suggestion to newbies like me is NOT to open the module unless you know what you are doing

Nway I will be buying a few more from you BluRay at the end of the month and this time I will resist the temptation to open them up!

I don't know about any of you but the first thing I'm doing when I get mine is putting on a cap also runtime might be an issue I rember the smaller drivers don't take to long run times to well...

If these are on Rkcstr's drivers, then there already is a cap on the diode directly. A bulky 47uF tantalum. You don't need to add a cap.
