Sorry to hear that things are a bit tough at this time Isaac and that you have to sell. Don't sell your camera equipment though. You might be able to get a spot as a background photographer for weddings or a shoot for a band with some promo shots? After seeing and feeling your excitement with photography a few months back you inspired me to pick up my camera again and now I am right back into it. Even doing a professional photography course. Pman made me a very kind offer to buy it with the option of my buying it back at a later date and I have accepted that offer. Laser has sold to a very standup guy.

As for my skills, I do a lot of photography and have a lot of technical knowledge on the subject. I have had classical vocal training. I can type fairly quickly. I am physically fit. I have a good grasp of most subjects(jack of all trades, master of only a few). I am currently talking to management about securing a full time position with my current employer, but I don't know how that will turn out. I am considering inquiring about employment with a camera shop somewhat close to my house. I have done retail and food jobs, so there are a good number of options. And I really just need something to tide me over until the end of the summer, as my plan is to join the military as a cryptolinguist if possible, which would put me on a career path.

I sent a PM to Isaac and was very clear that I didn't want him to sell it but if he had too I would (after getting approval from my awesome wife) take the money out of savings and purchase it from him as I have always wanted one and had recently spent my money on a 1.5W 520nm because I was VERY concerned about having no guarantee on output and the possibility of a customs issue. Oh, forget it, here's the actual PM:

I have always wanted a 589nm and if you look at some recent things I said in the forum I ended up spending my Christmas $ on a 1.5W 520nm from DTR and a host from Sinner. I had missed the first GB from about 6 months ago on them as I wasn't active in the forum due to medical issues. I thought I was going to get in on the second GB but then it was cancelled.
I purchased the 520nm stuff because I was concerned that the power wouldn't be guaranteed anymore and customs.
I've stated that I wanted one that peaked over 100mW but as things are you're lucky to have one in the first place plus 50mW of 589nm is no joke.
So, here's my proposal IF I can get the go ahead from my wife:
I use savings to purchase it and you get the option of buying it back anytime you want for the same amount. No, I'm not kidding and will publicly state this. I take care of my lasers regardless of value. They are all in cases and the more expensive or special ones are also wrapped. It is 99% likely you would receive it back in the exact same condition as it is now.
Again, I don't want you to sell it but if you must that's what I can offer.
Think about it. I have to head off for church. I keep my word and have helped many in need and freely given on this forum all over asking and expecting nothing in return."

My wife said it would be OK as long as I sacrificed in other areas to get the $ back into savings as soon as possible.

So, what did Pete get in the mail about an hour ago? I just received most of the $ that Workers Comp owed me from April for travel in a check that was more than the amount I needed to make up for! Not only that, looking at the dates I was paid they still owe me about $200 more.

So, this worked out for both of us and as I told him (he didn't ask me too) I would publicly state that at any time he can repurchase the unit for the same amount I bought it for. I keep my word. If I get to keep it that's great and if Isaac wants it back at any point he can have it back with a thanks for letting me borrow it.

Oh yeah, my father who doesn't have much $ but believes in spending everything he has (I'm the opposite) sent me a $100 bill that arrived today also. I had no idea whatsoever these things were going to happen today.

I do have complete faith in God and He has always taken care of my family. I realize that most of you don't so please just be happy for Isaac and I that we were able to make this happen. I have no idea what Isaac believes so understand I was speaking about myself.

Well, someone was in shock today when he went to get the mail. I don't know how it's possible but I had completely forgotten that it was coming today Think it was this mornings therapy and then a doctors appointment right after that caused me not to even think about what was coming.
Absolutely awesome extras especially the module holder. Can't tell you how much trouble that's going to save me.
Thanks for everything else too Ever figure out what that diode is? What's in the depressor/syringe? I don't have a single one of the things you sent other than the batteries and it was really nice of you. What do you call the mirrors/see through pieces?
I haven't done anything yet other than started the battery charging and letting the unit sit for a few hours as it was -13 here last night and was super cold and was likely sitting in the postal truck for at least 5 hours. Going to blow it out also with dry air before testing it real quick just to see what I get in comparison to your testing I'll report later.

In there were:

The bad with the see throughs are dichros. You can use them to combine beams of different wavelengths.
Haven't found the data sheet on the diode yet but I will try to today.
The mirrors are just some fun things to bounce the beams around with.
In the syringe is some of flaminpyro's famous solder flux. I never got around to opening it but reportedly it makes soldering a hell of a lot easier.

UPDATE: They were the 50mW 445nm diodes from Lazerman121's group buy.

Ah hem sir, where are our beam shots?

I stink at beam shots. I really need to try some things. The camera I always use takes a decent picture when using flash but I can't get a clean shot otherwise. Should try my other camera but I think all I really need to do is just put them on a tripod. Never tried my Samsung note 4 either.
