Good question.

I got all of these at volume savings because I bought three of each item, and TBH Faona gave me some AMAZING prices on the hosts, which cut back alot of the total cost.

I see, because I checked the price of each individual part and I found out it was over $35 lol. That's why I was like :wtf: Anyway, nice kits you sold there.

Hey kmiller8,

I am new to laser builds, and I was wondering about the rayfoss host.

Does it come with a heatsink build in? (for a module)

Or can I just place a green module right inside and it will be secure in the host?

If you refer to the picture below... all you have to do is press fit the laser module into the host... A tutorial is in my signiture... click on the link "Review here"

Good thing you brought that up. When you try to press the module, you may have to grind it a little bit, because these hosts are designed to press fit VERY tightly, and if you don't grind just a little, it will be near impossible to fit the module fully in there.

EDIT: or you can just follow bobhaha's guide, very nice btw.

I just recieved my DIY kit!!!

Fast shipping and I am very pleased with the host, charger, battery, and glasses.

Now I just need to get a 150-250mW green module...

I am trying to contact nexbox360 and get one from him, but he is all sold out now.

Any Ideas for modules that would work well with this setup? that I can buy now?

nice to see you got it right on time, let's hope bobhaha's clears customs in a timely manner.

As for a module, you may want to try posting a "WTB Green Laser Module" thread like I did a few months back, and see if anyone responds.

THanks for responding to my questions.

I did see O-Likes modules, but I was hoping for something more so around 200mW-250mW that will work for the rayfoss host.

I think I will post a thread asking if anyone has green modules they want to sell me.

make sure you keep the duty cycle short that a powerful module for such a small host with barely any heatsinking
